Topic: The "Big Six": 1969 Posted: August 11 2014 at 06:04 |
Thought I'd start a series of polls on the Big Six per year, starting with 1969 (even though ELP is missing). Just pick your favourite album and maybe comment what you think about the others
Actually stuck between King Crimson and Genesis on this, but I'll vote Genesis because there's more stuff on there and ITCOTCK is going to get loads of votes Stand Up is another great album (as good as TAAB for me), then the Pink Floyd ones.
As always, thanks for any feedback

ItCotCK is an album of great historic signifcance because it can be regarded as the first sign of prog's maturity and it contgains a number of classic prog songs.
Nevertheless I find it easy to vote for Ummagumma. Pink Floyd proved to be able to create some good 12-minute pieces where King Crimson failed dramatically.

At that period in history, I have to give it to ITCoTCK.
Great poll!

They're all alright except for In the Court... which is a genredefining album and a true classic.

Hard choice, since I have a very deep personal relationship with these albums, being that I started listening to progresive rock during this era. I will have to wait and think before choosing.

Hard to choose between Crimson, Tull and Yes. Okay, I'll vote for Yes, but it's really close.
