If you are asking me I think my short answer already answered this question.
Besides, I think it is a sign of weakness if you let your feelings
about some favourite non-prog band affect these kind of issues.

Hello fellow progheads.
I think we will never fully agree about the bands that are now on Prog Archives and that will be added to this site. In my opinion we have to be tolerant and should not act like The Spanish Inquisition! I hope that Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Santana, The Tubes and The Stranglers will be added to the site because they have made at least some wonderful progressive rock albums, not like King Crimson, Yes or Genesis but an own very distinctive sound like The Raven by The Stranglers, Led Zep III and IV or Abraxas by Santana (unique latin-rock, very progressive). These albums are not Mellotron-drenched or layered with Minimoog flights or they don't contain frequent shifting moods but for sure they sound progressive, more than post-Hackett Genesis, Eighties Yes or post Waters Pink Floyd! And Prog Archvies have scooped a precedent by adding Radiohead, Queen and Talk Talk. And if my abovementioned bands are added, I'm sure that a lot of reviewers will gain attention with venomous reviews about these added bands, that's a good sublimation, better than beating up or bullying other people!
Keep on writing as Gatot used to write!

I suppose if you add Sabbath you'd have to add all their albums, 95% with no prog leanings at all. They're one of my favourite bands but in my opinion they're overall as prog as Zeppelin. Not quite enough.

What are the bands you want on progarchives because they belong to the genre "Roots of prog"?
As some of us may have seen, a new genre "Roots of prog" has been added to the progarchives site. The only band in this genre that has been added until now is Deep Purple. Now it will not take long before the Beatles will enter the archives. Let the 60's revive again!!!! !! !!!! !!!!

"Roots of Prog" is not a bad genré, and I think some other bands should be moved there, like for example Vanilla Fudge

T2 and Room are both on the "Legend Of A Mind" compilation which is featured here under various artists. Both a bit obscure but could be added.

Some of the stuff we listened to many Moons ago were - then - perceived as prog, but later surpassed in style and delivery. Does it mean that today's perceived prog will end up on the scrapheap too and be a laughing matter for ones, yet to be born? Quiet possibly, I'd say. (For some, Kraftwerk is sensational, for others prog means no less than Mahavishnu.)
I am almost "offended" by some inclusions here, yet - in all fairness - I could not object to them. Perhaps the site benefits from allowing for a broader spectrum? For example, I have most of the early albums of Kate Bush - and I still enjoy listening to them. She was innovative without a Hammond B-3, yet I'd cringe at seeing her listed here. Nevertheless, her approach then was progressive in the classical term of the word..... So, where do we draw the line? It's anybody's guess and will remain so - perhaps forever.
I'd say common sense will dictate the terms and after all, the people who established the site may have their own motivation and preference and they have the right to determine as what's in line with their preferences. Any one of us who insists on major changes - I could be one too - is free to track down and participate on other sites, or perhaps set up their own...?

1. The albums are in no way progressive. Led Zep 3 is folk mixed in with blues and rock, nothing no one's not heard before but it's true. And "Starway to Heaven" is about the only Zep song o that album to be even close to prog. Zep was only a bit prog on Physical Graffitti, but not enough for that album to even be on this site, IMO.
2. Gatot sill wirtes excellent reviews.
