You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

yeah man. Nowhere near my favorite but Gates still towers above anything Genesis did. Gates of Delirium ROCKS!!! and yet ends with purpose and such beauty.. what does Supper's Ready do... amuse you with a mildly clever section about Winston Churchill being in drag. pfff.. I really don't understand you Genesis bobbleheads

Gates is probably my favorite Yes track, but against Supper's Ready - easy call. Supper's Ready...

"The Gates of Delirium" hands down. Relayer is an album that grew on me over the years, though it did take a long time to finally do so. On the other hand, I have never managed to get into "Supper's Ready" - or the whole of Foxtrot for that matter.

Dig me...But don't...Bury me I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Supper's Ready is a slam dunk......It does what an epic should and that is take you on a journey and then bring you back home, the song is brilliance. Gates is also brilliant, but lands shy of what Genesis did on Supper.

Oh yeah. "Tarkus" over "Supper's Ready" any day.
I do consider it a few degrees better then "Gates", though.

I feel the same as you. Gates gets me pumped and excited, I can barely get through the first few minutes of Supper's Ready before I'm bored out of my mind

Supper's Ready! How is there any comparison?! That said, Gates is much better structured and definitely the highlight of Relayer. Possibly Yes' greatest ever song actually...

Tough one, actually. Supper's Ready was an old favorite of mine, and some parts still bring a shiver to the spine. These days I prefer Gates Of Delirium, but only slightly. Yes is completely going loose on Jon Anderson's musical fantasies over "War And Peace". Wolves crying, batlles with guitars, and on top of it, Moraz' wonderful synths.

Gates probably as its a cathartic work of art. Supper's Ready is mostly magic and only boring if you're not paying attention.
