^ Thanks, guys, all albums on this and previous page done.
Except the remaining bios with "dreaded ï¿½" instead of diacritic letters", i.e.:

(Strangely I can't edit your posts in this thread today, the error occurs.)

^ M@X was logged in to the forum last night not long before Eugene tried in vain to edit the posts that he'd dealt with here, so it would seem that he might have done some more tweaks to the site. I've mentioned this in the Blocked thread, and suggested there that it might be worth reporting the problem in the New Format thread if it persists, since M@X does usually take look at any fresh comments in that one while he's here.

He is visiting the forum fairly regularly at the moment while he is tweaking some aspects of the appearance of the main site, so he should pick up any messages he receives from members of the site whose opinion he respects. Bartek (Tuzvihar) notified him about the issue via Facebook when the problem first became widespread back in May 2023, but I'm not sure if he ever responded to him, tried to fix the problem, or even picked up the message in the first place.
I've just contacted him directly about it. Let's hope he can solve this.

^ After two years, I'm happy to announce that the issue () is finally resolved — at least, I think so! If you notice any other anomalies, feel free to mention them here. I can reach out to M@X fairly quickly.

Based on what I just observed when I opened up the Noveria page that I added last night in the admin panel again, I am also hopeful that the issue is finally resolved. The diacritic mark in Elisabeth Kübler-Ross's name was shown correctly from the outset, without me having to paste it back into the biography like I had to do when I went back to the Noveria page last night to add the artist photo, and what's more, when scrolling through the long list of band and artist names to locate Noveria in the list to begin with, no instances of ï¿½ could be seen anywhere in the list of names! Before, there were loads of band and artist names with ï¿½ showing in them as you scrolled down the list, so something has definitely been done to improve matters!

If the fix turns out to be a lasting one, then a big 'thank you' to Julien for alerting M@X about this, and getting him to finally do something about the problem! Clap

^ Good if the eternal curse of PA is gone now.
I've also opened one of the albums in admin panel and then clicked "Edit" on the album page. In both cases diactrics are shown correctly. Thumbs Up

^ The biography hasn't quite been reproduced correctly for this band either, so it needs a couple of minor edits (see here for the original source):

"Fluctus Quadratum is an English keyboard-driven progressive rock band started by a father-son duo, both being ardent followers of progressive music, in 2019 during the Covid pandemic. Jopheus BURTONSHAW (son), a 14-year-old self-taught keyboardist, composer, and producer - doing just about everything but drums and vocals - produced the music for their first FQ track, Convergence. His father, Rick BURTONSHAW, drummer, has his own history in the industry, having drummed for bands such as CRY WOLF, TRICKS UPON TRAVELLERS (T.U.T.), and PRE-MED. Curtis ADAMCZYK joined the two on vocals."

There's just that bit of missing text in line 1 to add, and the two long dashes which have been interpreted by the site's software as question marks need altering to normal dashes.

Mayer, are you sure there is no guitarist?

The only line-up difference is the presence of guitarman in current album info:
- Alan Trower / Guitars

^ I'm pretty sure Mayer is correct. There might not even have been a bassist involved during the actual recording of the album.

The bio that you've just fixed was taken from the New Suggestions forum - with a little editing by Louis - but it originally came from the Fluctus Quadratum website. The forum user 'Fluctus' who posted the suggestion is not a member of the band as you would normally assume he was at a first glance, but is merely someone who has created an account posing as someone from the band just to provide some additional justification for him posting the suggestion. This isn't the first time this sort of thing has happened, and there is one person in particular who is usually the prime suspect when it does happen.

Anyhow, the fact is that Fluctus Quadratum is a essentially just a three-piece consisting of Jopheus Burtonshaw as the main composer - playing keys, synths etc and as far as I know creating all the guitar and bass parts that were used on the album via his synths rig, his father Rick Burtonshaw on drums and Curtis Adamczyk on vocals.

As far as I can make out, the only time 'real' guitarists and bassists are used is when the trio perform in a live setting, and due to the complexity of the guitar parts that Jopheus writes, a number of guitarists have come and gone since the band was formed. Alan Trower was the live guitarist until January 2023, being replaced at that time by Ben Ellis, who in turn was replaced by Mark Worledge in July 2024. Mark Piercy was the live bassist until April 2023, but moved on to focus on other projects in his preferred genre of heavy rock and was replaced at that time by Cici Powell-Melkonian. The band said on Facebook that she would also be in and on all their future releases, but I don't know for sure if she actually contributed anything to the recording of the 'Laplacian' album.

More info about who was actually involved (or not) in the recording of the album will doubtless emerge in the fullness of time, but for now at least I'd do as Mayer suggests and remove the guitarist from the album line up. I can always ask the band via Facebook if either Mark Piercy or Cici Powell-Melkonian was involved in the recording of the album.

Edit: The line-up that Louis used for the album probably came from here: https://progrockjournal.com/news-fluctus-quadratum-published-a-14-minutes-teaser-for-their-debut-album-laplacian/.

I've contacted the band on Facebook now asking for confirmation of the correct line-up for the album. It would perhaps be best to leave any further editing of the album page until after I've received a reply from them.

Edit 2: Rick Burtonshaw has responded to my Facebook message and confirmed that Jopheus was responsible for everything on the album apart from drums and vocals. Rick played the drums and Curtis Adamczyk sang the vocals. No bassist or guitarist was involved in the making of the album. Smile
