Thanks to all for listening and commenting. It seems opinions on my nominations were very polarised... Red Snapper and So Sner were on top for some and not loved much by others... interesting.

So, I'll kick off the voting then. My top three are (in no particular order):
- Cola de zorro
- So Sner
- YAYA Kim

we broke the weather would have been on the podium had they made it to the finals.
Special mention also for Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul who didn't make it to the finals either, but would have been stiff competition for a top spot.

Thanks Nick, and thanks to all for this very enjoyable poll!

And a little gift, to make everybody happy... (I hesitated between this one, more funky than disco, and the one that I finally put up).

Glad you appreciate YAYA Kim, Kees. Mayhaps she'll perform with The Rolling Stones for a live (hopefully) album called Get Yer YAYA Out!

My choices are:

Yokai - Ledeberg (Kees)
Brandt Brauer Frick - Step (Mila)
Kikagaku Moyo - Dancing Blue (George)

I really love having two of each person's picks in the poll, and I'm very happy with what went up of mine. I would like to do one with three per person, each pick from a different decade and we each would vote for one of each participant's choices. If I got more than eight participants, then I'd adjust.

^ Greg, I'm glad that you liked Brandt Brauer Frick! Would you like to host the next edition?

My final votes will go to:

Mario Lino Stancati

Yaya Kim

Red Snapper

________________

I liked Cola de Zorro (again a Nick track) and Kikagaku Moyo a lot but couldn’t decide between the two. – Since I am very much into rhythmical/danceable sounds – and we rarely get to hear that type of music here – I decided to give my third vote to amazing Red Snapper.

This edition was right down my alley! With a few more participants it would have been even more fun. An extension to the 2020s would have made things a bit easier, I guess but it was still great.

Thanks a lot, to all of you for the music and the comments! A big thank you goes out to Nick for hosting and George for the spreadsheet and the playlist, always much appreciated! - Kees, merci for the encore, that one went straight to my playlist! Clap

^ That's great news, use the momentum and start a new poll, the sooner the better! I've got a few poll topics on my back burner as well but I'll let you go first. I'll be busy next week anyway, so that would be fine.- In case you decide to do the '3 different decades' one, please let the release date not be the only criterion. Those artists/bands should however reflect the respective decade in some way, me thinks. Nowadays, rock stars tend to have a long life . . Tongue

All 7 of my 5 pt tracks made in for voting. This did make it challenging. Listened a few times to get it down to a top five. Finally settling on:

Brandt Brauer Frick
Cola de zorro
Midlake

Followed closely by honorable mentions:

Yôkaï
So Sner

Nice poll everybody!!

Lots of fun to engage again with this group.  Excellent job, Nick, George, and of course, thanks to Lorenzo, as always!

Will be sitting out again, as other projects will be more consuming of time in the next while ahead.

Indeed, the three decades idea wouldn't be my only criterion. I did a "poll of contrast" before where people chose two tracks that were different to each-other to nominate, and then I did the more specific contrasting poll "Heaven and Hell", and this was to be a sort of extension of that. Instead of two, this poll would go to three! (I wanted 11, but that would be too much). The idea being that the three tracks differ in moods or style, and then I thought of the decades. I also had thought that it would be good for the music to reflect the decade in some way, and for the three choices to be quite different from each other. It's important for this to me that there is enough diversity in the person's selections that everyone hopefully will be reasonably enthusiastic about something of the three. For instance, for one person's three choices, I'd rather not have the 70s represent Baby Fuzz Metal (aka Proto-Hair Metal), the 80's be full on Hair Metal, and in later decades it be Bald Metal (otherwise know as Post Hair Metal). Anyway, I'll work out the details as I prepare it. I would like to have it going by tonight or tomorrow hopefully to give you and others a chance to get started on the weekend.

Anyway, this was a really neat poll, and I really liked most of the music even though I could not get behind all of Lorenzo's choices which tailed off in the rear as the bottom entries, which I might say was kind of a bum deal. Never mind, I'm being an ass or just plain cheeky.

My votes go to Ana Alcaide, Brandt Brauer Frick, and Cola de zorro. Honorable mentions to Yaya Kim, Yokai, Kikagaku Motyo, Mondkopf, Lalar, and Elisa (who'd have thought?). This was a great poll actually because finding out about something new is always good and there was much good stuff. However I do have my troubles with the general trend to do polls that require more effort, and I also wouldn't have complained about a few days more break after this one.

I wanted to give Mila a chance to get hers in this weekend, as she will be busy on the weekdays. No one needs to start posting their selections in my poll yet, one could think of it as a heads up so I didn't see the advantage in waiting to put it up. I think mine should be easy if one chooses to only listen through the nominations, but we will see if we get more than eight people. My trend almost always has always been to make them more challenging, often not juts for the participants, but for me to prepare them (such as that one where I posted every past Interactive Topic to consider music one had posted to but nominated before). That took quite a long time to prepare. Sorry if they way I approached the new poll is unsatisfactory to people. As I have often said, and no one has openly disagreed with me that I recall, I see no issue with having one poll going on in the nominations stage while another is going on in the voting stage, and this current poll has been going on for a considerable time. I had hoped that by giving people two full weekend to nominate, it would make things feel less hurried and forced as well as giving people more of a chance to consider their choices. Sorry to Nick and others if it distracts from this poll in any way (that's not something I would have wanted) or people would have liked a break. Maybe breaks between polls might not be a bad idea. Like once everyone has voted who can, wait a week before starting the next poll to give people a chance to revive before thinking about the next. Not what I would want, but these polls should not feel like a duty or a burden, imo (not that anyone need feel compelled to participate in all of them or get started quickly when anew poll emerges unless it is on a short deadline -- I think my deadline is long enough not to feel rushed). Sorry for not waiting longer if it causes anyone added stress or distracts from this poll.

And Nickie reminded me with her response above, thanks for the song mention, as I had forgotten to... Glad you enjoyed YAYA Kim. :)

@Greg: You are of course right that if it's too much for me, I don't need to participate in every single poll. It shouldn't be a problem for me if there are polls going on in which I don't participate... but I like these polls, so I'll make the effort and complain afterwards. Wink Really you can do your poll whenever and however you like, fine by me.

^ I'm often of the shoot first, ask questions later mentality.

I get how it can be nice to really savour a poll, and then take a break from it before even thinking about the next one. When it feels like a conveyor belt system where it's constantly "moving on, on to the next task" that can take away the enjoyment and burn one out (speaking from own experience). I don't want this to became too much of an out with the old and in with the new series.
I would like it to feel more casual and more organic where each poll has space to breathe, and so do the participants. I used to be much more "get on with it, enjoyed that, but now let's move on and do the next" in my mentality as I had wanted everyone to get a shot and not have to wait wait seemed like ages for a turn as I mentioned before.

^ Its sad for me that you won't be participating in the Interactive Poll I created as you bring so much to the proceedings, but the other projects come first, of course. I will miss your presence. I was going to ask if you could drop by that thread even for any little comments as I love your commentary and perspectives on a wide variety of things (you've helped to alter my perspectives on a few things), but then you might feel sucked into it and other things of course come first and you don't go into those polls halfheartedly or halfway... You put time and thought into your comments and listen carefully. And Lorenzo, despite your lack of good internet, I do hope that you can contribute to the new poll.

And sorry, I don't mean to be rude by seemingly plugging that in this thread. This was one of my favourite Interactive Polls, and it reminded me of what I have been missing in my absence from them. PS. Nick, I hope you're holding up well. All the best. Great job on this despite the difficulties.

Thank you for your kind comments, Greg. I do like to fully participate, if I'm going to, I'm kind of rigid with myself that way and know what my limits are, so don't over-commit.

I will be back again, no doubt, just not for a while.
