inspired by the GG song vs Genesis Whodunnit, let's have the two albums where they come from against each other.

The Missing Piece for me, it also contains one of GG's best songs Memories Of Old Days.

I actually like the Genesis Pop Records until WCD which still has some good cuts off of it. I don't vehemently hate either, in fact, I quite like abacab.

^ Jesus wept...admitting to liking "me and sarah jane"? Even my boyhood crush on Elizabeth Sladens Dr Who character cannot make me even consider a two second snippet of such an anti prog , lets try and make some money track from CRB...

The Missing Piece marks the decline of GG, but Memories of Old Days is one of the twin peaks in their catalog. Genesis was deteriorating rapidly at this point, but Dodo/Lurker is nevertheless great. I think I prefer GG here.

Probably Abacab is a bit better than The Missing Piece. But, neither of them are particularly good, especially in terms of prog.

Both albums are solid three star efforts, even with the filler on both of them. I give the nod to Abacab for Dodo/Lurker and Keep It Dark.

Not prime Gentle Giant, but it sure beats ABACAB. Might have been closer if you had chosen Civilian though.

Nice to see another old Elizabeth Sladen fan out there!

Keep It Dark is one of my favourite Genesis songs, while the title track and Dodo/Lurker are excellent as well. The rest I don't care for much. Not that familiar with the GG album but like most people I just don't care for anything they did post Interview. Genesis at least still put some prog out up to We Can't Dance (Fading Lights is excellent imo)

I think Civilian is much better, more interesting than Abacab. Oh well...

Like it or not Tongue, I like 'em both. For different reasons, but I like them anyway.

3-stars each.

Neither is the worst by either band so I voted "like em both."

Same here. I was just waiting for someone else to vote for that option first. Tongue

Nothing can be as bad as Invisible Touch. Gentle Giant doesn't have anything bad.
