Rush without a doubt in my mind. A band that can be hard-edged when necessary, but also complicated and emotionally rewarding. I never cared anything about Black Sabbath and really find this poll to be a ridiculous one as both groups’ aims couldn’t be more different.

Rush's best six album run was Caress Of Steel to Moving Pictures. Signals is weak.

Undoubtedly an unfair contest, even on this forum, I expected Sabbath would be easily knocking the Canadians out.....

Why I choose Sabbath is that I love all those albums in that poll, Moving Pictures & Signals are weaker to me than Rush seventies albums.

Rush - some of these albums are near perfection. However, have to say that Sabbath's initial run was a strong as any other rock band

Rush!

Sabbath has some musical moments, but Rush is far more consistently musical and interesting, with new ideas.

btw I love Farewell to Kings! It is my favourite Rush album (by a hair - over Moving Pictures which is second for me).

There's not everything about a technical superiority nor quality of music. In some other fields Sabbath outclass Rush.

Love 'em both to death, but ultimately I find Rush vastly more interesting to listen to.
