Easy money isn't much of a track imo. Talking drum is a bit of filler too
|

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

I didn't expect Talking Drum to "win" this one. I really enjoy that one, and as a combo with Larks Toungues part 2 they are the highlight of the album for me. I guess I have to vote for Book of Saturday... even though if I follow my logic for voting on Selling England by the Pound I would have to go for Larks Toungues part 1, for I don't really find much melody to enjoy from it, and it's much longer than Book of Saturday (actually, it is Larks part 1 that won't let me consider this one a 5 star album, while I could pass Book of Saturday).

I love The Talking Drum. Really, all of the songs are very good / great. But since I "had" to pick something I picked Book of Saturdays.

Yeah, I guess I understand that. It was difficult for me to decide if I like that song or not, and then, I mostly like the live versions, I don't really enjoy the studio version that much.

The 2 LTIA tracks are hard to bear: I don't really hear the music in it, just a collection of random instrument parts all stuck together to make people believe Fripp and Co. had some "great plan" for music or something.

easily talking drum. Pointless noodling. It doesn't detract from the album but it doesn't add much, i usually tune out when it plays without even knowing it

I agree completley with you about part 1, but I really love part 2. It may be noisy and crazy, but I do hear the music in it and I love it.

Think of LTIA 1 & 2 as "chamber metal" ... if that helps at all. If not, Toronto 2015 (downloadable from dgmlive.com) starts off with a rollicking live Larks 1. A bit shorter and punchier than the studio original.

"Least favorite track" doesn't really compute in this case for me.
In fact, that doesn't compute in most cases for me. I'm not someone who feels that track quality varies on most albums.
