I've seen three names come up that I must take issue with.
The Final Cut A brilliant album from start to finish. Probablay better if it is to be regarded as virtually a solo Waters album
Stationary Traveller? Are you mad. Its a damn fine album
And I suppose I shouldn't be surprised to see Hot Space get mentioned.. Again disagree big time. All those haters should give it another chance. Some damn fine songs there; Back Chat, Put Out the Fire, Life is Real, Las Palabras de Amor

One must really be a hater to mention Love Beach. There's a boatload of others worth considering far more inadequate than that (including ELP's last two).

It's been a while since I heard it, but Rock Island by Jethro Tull could qualify. Totally lifeless. Even Under Wraps had some songs on there I liked.

Who Dunnit atrocious? You mean like your avatar?

As much as I love Yes, they had some pretty bad lows lol. A few that come to mind are
Yes - Tormato Yes - Talk Yes - Union
On the other hand, I love everything by Genesis.
King Crimson's beat is easily me lest favorite of theirs that I have heard thus far. Gentle Giant's 80s material was not good either like The Missing Piece is terrible.

Their only 80's album was Civilian. This one has nothing to do with prog but it is pretty good. The Missing Piece is an album with two faces. GG went adrift with this one, but Memories of Old Days may be the best song from their entire catalog. Giant for a Day is easily GG's worst.

I think More is the worst Pink Floyd album rather than either The Final Cut or Atom Heart Mother. I think their debut is overrated but not the worst. Earthbound might be a convenient get out for King Crimson but I always hated Islands. Calling All Stations or From Genesis To Revelation. It wasn't all bad in the late 80's but a lot of the longer bands had a bad period. I feel King Crimson should be exempt from this timeframe as they were in a radically different direction.

lol my bad, I just assumed everything after their IN'Terview album (studio album wise) was made in the 80's. I probably should of looked up the years those albums were made before I posted. Anyways, I remember not liking a single song from those albums but I'll give Memories of Old Days another listen to see if I misjudged that song upon my initial listen.

Return of the Samourai (sic) by Tai Phong. A lame collection of uncatchy, overproduced and badly penned songs.

Those I guess. Crimson was pretty consistent, Floyd too. AMLOR is not great but far better than any of those. And I quite like The Final Cut. I also like Gentle Giant's Giant for a Day, it's a nice pop album.

I think the problem with Yes' `Open Your Eyes' is that cold, clinical metallic production and Anderson's constantly shrill voice. But I've never found it a complete write-off....if anything, for a pretty commercial sounding album, the instrumentation and playing is far more overtly `proggy' than either of `90125' and `Big Generator' (it's just that they have stronger tunes!), and Squire is mixed nice and loud!

'In The Hot Seat' by ELP .....or maybe 'Free As A Bird' by Supertramp......a band I never thought much of to begin with.

Rush's worst album would be... Power windows. Maybe hold your fire or presto.

Blasphemy! Power Windows is awesome.
I do get it that many Rush fans don't care for this period in the band's history

Reading through this thread is interesting. All the people picking Abacab as the worst Genesis album haven't heard what came after this album??? I mean, I get it that prog Genesis fans tend not to like anything after Duke and maybe not anything after Hackett left, but to call Abacab worse than I Can't Dance, for instance, is batsh*t crazy
