same goes for this one - Mike Oldfield / acoustic, electric & Spanish guitars, bass, mandolin, Farfisa, Lowrey & Gemini organs, glockenspiel, gong, tubular bells, timpani With - Chili Charles / snare drums - Lindsay Cooper / oboe - June Whiting / oboe - Ted Hobart / trumpet - Sally Oldfield / chorus - Clodagh Simmonds / chorus - London Sinfonietta members / strings - David Bedford / chorus & strings conductor note: in my judgement sleigh bells as indeed nutcracker are credited just for fun ; what one can hear for sure are tubular bells at the end of part 1 http://www.discogs.com/Mike-Oldfield-Hergest-Ridge/master/14725 http://tubular.net/discography/HergestRidge E&O Team: Thanks, done. this one demands a little more work - Mike Oldfield / acoustic, classical, 12-string & electric guitars, acoustic & electric basses, mandolin, harp, bouzouki, banjo, grand piano, spinet, Farfisa organ, ARP 2600 & Solina synths, bodhran, glockenspiel, assorted percussions (marimba, gong, tubular bells) With - Paddy Moloney / uillean pipes - Don Blakeson / trumpet - Pierre Moerlen / tympani - William Murray / percussion - Terry Oldfield / Pan pipes - Leslie Penning / recorders, conductor (brass ensemble) - David Strange / cello - Jabula (Julian Bahula, Ernest Mothle, Lucky Ranku, Eddie Tatane) / African drums - Sally Oldfield / vocals - Bridget St. John / vocals - Clodagh Simonds / vocals - Penrhos kids / vocals ("On Horseback" section) - The Hereford City band / brass ensemble note: although credited Herbie with Northumbrian bagpipes his contribution was not retained and instead Moloney's was http://tubular.net/discography/Ommadawn and inner notes by Mark Powell on 2010 release http://www.discogs.com/Mike-Oldfield-Ommadawn/release/2389091 E&O Team: Thanks, as I see it's already done. http://www.discogs.com/Mike-Oldfield-Ommadawn/release/2403066 maybe it's a good time to include this major version (by MO himself) 1. {Part One} (19:05) 2. {Part Two} / On Horseback (17:20) 3. In Dulce Jubilo (2:51) 4. First Excursion (5:56) 5. Argiers (3:57) 6. Portsmouth (2:04) Total time 51:13 3-6 bonus tracks Edited by NotAProghead - November 29 2015 at 16:50 |

http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=4905 I think with a small effort we can better this - Mike Oldfield / acoustic, classical, electric, flamenco, sitar, bowed & Glorfindel guitars, bouzouki, bass, mandolin, ukulele, banjo, acoustic & electric pianos, organs (Farfisa, Lowrey, Hammond, Vox Continental), marimba, glockenspiel, bodhran, Northumbrian bagpipes, melodica, psaltry, Jews harp, spinet, Pan pipes, violin, bongos, bass drums, timpani, synthesizers (Roland D50 & vocoder), tubular bells, assorted percussion & effects With - Paddy Moloney / Uillean pipes - Julian Bahula / African musicians leader - Janet Brown / vocals - Bridget St.John / vocals - Clodagh Simmonds / vocals http://tubular.net/discography/Amarok E&O Team: Thanks, done. "Small effort" took about an hour or two. For example, "sitar" and "sitar guitar" is not the same thing. I'm also not sure that vocoder is a synthesizer. I grouped MO instruments (string, keyboards, percussion): - Mike Oldfield / bowed guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, 12-string guitar, classical guitar, sitar guitar, Glorfindel guitar, highly strung guitar, flamenco guitar, bass guitar, bazouki, mandolin, ukulele, banjo, psaltry, violin, Jews harp, Steinway piano, organs (Farfisa, Lowrey, Hammond, Vox Continental), Roland D50 synthesizer, spinet, melodica, vocoder, Northumbrian bagpipes, Pan pipes, marimba, glockenspiel, bodhran, Jews harp, bongos, bass drums, timpani, tubular bells, assorted percussion & effects Because otherwise the list is hard to read. End even now I'm not sure many would read it. Aren't we doing a monkey business? Edited by NotAProghead - November 29 2015 at 18:23 |

Thanks, done. Please look at the final result: http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=4893. Though I have doubts about this line - Penrhos kids / vocals ("On Horseback" section) I could not find the confirmation on this page http://tubular.net/discography/Ommadawn that poor kids had to sing on this particular track.

^ Good question, it's always on my mind, BUT...
Like I said, I'm doing it primarly for my own DB out of the pleasure of knowing it all when I'm listening
No need to add that if and when you feel it's going over the top - be free, my friends,
to just let it drop with no regrets, certainly with no offense taken on my part. Cheers ![]() Edited by Quinino - November 30 2015 at 04:24 |

Can anybody explain me why do people make up these wrong credits?
I suspect it's easier to just transcribe the RIGHT ones, but garbage keeps coming over and over again...
- Paul Cook / drums & percussion
- Michael Holmes / el. & ac. guitars & effects - John Jowitt / bass guitars, backing vocals - Peter Nicholls / lead & backing vocals - Martin Orford / keyboards, bass pedals, backing vocals http://www.discogs.com/IQ-Dark-Matter/release/1085017 E&O Team: Done, thanks. ![]() - Alvaro Fella / vocals, acoustic guitar, electric piano (3,7), organ (3), sax (7) - Tullio Granatello / drums, tympani - Sergio Conte / keyboards - Daniele "Pupo" Bianchini / bass, acoustic guitar (4) - Dario Guidotti / flutes, harmonica, el. & acoustic guitar, sistrum, vocals (2) - Aldo Gargano / Mellotron (5), bells (6), sistrum (2) Guest musicians (5): - Franco Battiato / VCS3 synthesizer - Lino "Capra" Vaccina / tabla, percussions - Angelo Vaggi / Moog synthesizer - Fats Gallo / slide guitar stick to this cover, the confusion is all over (even discogs has different credits in diff releases) and the new wepage is not of much help (I posted accordingly) E&O Team: Thanks, done. Looks now like: - Alvaro Fella / vocals, acoustic guitar, electric piano, organ, sax - Sergio Conte / keyboards - Dario Guidotti / acoustic and electric guitar, flutes, harmonica, sistrum, vocals - Aldo Gargano / Mellotron, bells, sistrum - Daniele "Pupo" Bianchini / acoustic guitar, bass - Tullio Granatello / drums, tympani Guest musicians: - Franco Battiato / VCS3 synthesizer (5) - Lino "Capra" Vaccina / tabla (5), percussion (5) - Angelo Vaggi / Minimoog synthesizer (5) - Fats Gallo / slide guitar (5) I.e. no specific tracks for the band members because in some cases you and this page http://www.discogs.com/Jumbo-Vietato-Ai-Minori-Di-18-Anni/release/3479293 give different numbers. I think it's the case when less info is better than more. Edited by NotAProghead - November 30 2015 at 21:37 |

- Vito Paradiso / vocals, acoustic guitar - Gilberto Trama / flute, tenor saxophone, piano, prepared piano, organ, French horn - Matteo Vitolli / el. & ac. guitars, percussion, prepared piano, flute - Eddy Lorigiola / bass - Ricky Rebajoli / drums, percussion, tympani BTW the year is 1972 (not 73) http://www.discogs.com/De-De-Lind-Io-Non-So-Da-Dove-Vengo-E-Non-So-Dove-Mai-Andr%C3%B2-Uomo-Il-Nome-Che-Mi-Han-Dato/master/210876 E&O Team: Thanks, done (line-up). I didn't change the year because, despite 1972 marked on LP labels, available sources tell that "the album came in 1973" (http://www.italianprog.com/a_dedelind.htm and my CD booklet). It seems that the album was printed and the release was planned for 1972 but postponed for some reasons.

Seems you're right and there are no acoustic guitars, but for any case I left only "guitars": - Franco Falsini / guitars, keyboards, synthesizers What if a couple of notes were played on acoustic? agreed ^^ agreed ^ I can't hear them, but your principle of prudence is sound. And I wished we all followed that rigorous approach, I'm surely learning it from you all here. ![]() BTW these more or less obscure oldies can be a pain, demanding sometimes an extra effort from us all, I just hope it won't be lost in the future Edited by Quinino - December 01 2015 at 08:50 |
