so we have one tie to settle.

I'll be starting a new poll between Ocean and Valentyne Suite.. first to 10 wins. The person who casts the winning vote.. announce it in case I am working on something else.

Starting the poll.....

and 2nd round matches will be standard format... 2 enter.. 1 leaves. We just did the 1st round the way we did to save a full month of running time of something that will take a long time to do as it was.

Very exciting
One thing that has bothered me though, maybe it's not necessary to add 'Prog Archives' in every poll title, so that we might be able to see which poll it is from the forum home?

Thumbs Up  timely feedback. Thanks.  I'll leave it out of the upcoming modern polls.

hahahahha...  saving that one.

Yeah.. I do feel dirty and used... to even consider voting for Camel... but what to do when you actually like the damn album ... more than the other choice.

The draw really screwed over Atomic Rooster, they get out of the group then run into VDGG. Really happy Popol Vuh made the run to the second round.

So Tull, Floyd & ELP lost in the first round with Crimson & Genesis advancing? Clap Well done everyone Clap

Clap  yeah... some albums really did get screwed... but they did make it to the 2nd round. A lot of other great ones didn't even do that.

no.. and that is the problem.  I just don't adore it.. is is a good album but never have been a KC 'fan' per se. I definitely like it more than the vastly over-appreciated (and yes.. overrated Wetton era)  but I really do like Mirage. It does rock.. and at the heart of my tastes.. I do love to rock out.

Domisitic bliss or voting integrity.. hmmm..

I'm looking forward to the modern polls. I don't think there is a single PAer who knows/owns all 128 albums. Everyone is going to be exposed to lots of (to them) new music.

Colosseum- Valentyne Suite wins the quick draw tiebreak... and will face Rush - Farewell to Kings in the 2nd round.

Btw.... I have seen the future and it is Wegmans which opened a new store here in northern Va. with a first in kind... with its own  bar within a grocery store....  now Raff doesn't have to pull my leg to get to go with her to the store. LOL

amen brother Daryl... I'd give an extra bonus vote per poll to anyone who had 2/3's of those albums.

I don't think anyone claimed to even have all of the top 50 of the recent RS list.  I think Raff told me how many we had of the moderns, and even with all the promos she has got from labels and the artists it was still embarssingly low.  This contest for me is the real excitement... not in who wins and loses... though I do have some passionate favorites.. but more in line of discovering albums which I (or even both Raff and I) have missed.

really?  Really Ian?  It isn't like they created the wheel or improved upon it.. and need to be placed upon a Beatlesque platform. Those albums are seemingly beloved and highly appreciated by the vast majority of the overall audience. The only voices of dissension are from militant free thinkers and from the lunatic fringe of those the prog world. LOL

and here we go...  starting the modern contest... same rules as the just completed first round of the first half of the classics.  4 enter.. 2 exit... tiebreaks the same...  2nd round matchups determined as the classic polls were.
