Just popped by and saw Sannhet's Revisionist on at least a few lists here. Figured I'd mention that they are on the Archives, currently without a single rating. I'm guilty as charged as well, but it looks like they could use some love for that release.

One interesting question is whether Phideaux finally releases Infernal, or if it'll turn out to be prog's Chinese Democracy.

First track is my favorite, a real standout.

Thanks Pat - I didn't catch this yesterday.

That one is sitting on my to buy list.

Truly excellent stuff - and from my own backyardWink!

Unfortunately, due to the personal slump I have been experiencing for some time now, I haven't heard many of the higher-profile releases of this year. Not particularly interested in Steven Wilson or Steve Hackett, if I have to be perfectly honest, but I'd really like to listen to the new Guapo and the new Upsilon Acrux (to name just two). On the other hand, I am trying my best to keep up with new releases via Progstreaming, and following the various suggestion threads that pop up here on PA.

For me this year is dominated by two albums that took some time in the making, but worth waiting for.

These are above all others:
Anekdoten - Until All the Ghosts Are Gone
Nice Beaver - The Time It Takes
-o0o-

Some other excellent ones that should be mentioned here:
Cailyn - Voyager
La Coscienza di Zeno - La Notte Anche il Giorno

-o0o-

Other goodies:
Big Big Train - Wassail
Red Jasper - The Great and Secret Show
The Psychedelic Ensemble - The Sunstone
Unreal City - Il Paese del Tramonto
The Tangent - A Spark in the Aether
-o0o-

Overrated:
Steven Wilson - Hand.Cannot.Erase.

I have a more extensive list at home, but off the top of my head/off others' lists the top  5 thus far would be:

Alco Frisbass
Guapo
Unit Wail
Zs
Upsilion Acrux
Toundra

Also very good to mentionable:
S Steensland
Ozric Tentacles
Yes (Progeny box)
Scherzoo
Magma.
S Hackett

And yes...I'm aware 5 = 6 there.
