If you haven't heard these two, do so. Fabulous. I saw them one night on Public TV, and went out and bought 3 CDs the next day.

P.S. And just to stay on topic, no, Camel is not a metal band.

Camel were a great band; therefore, they weren't metal Big smile
All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

^Correction, Camel were a good band, but they would have been better if they were metal. Wink

Most certainly. They play so fast so our brains can't process and it feels like slow and relaxing music. Ever saw a helicopter? It's the same thing, really.

I've moved this thread to just for fun.

[/QUOTE] One of my top ten bands for sure. 11:11 is one of the only albums I have without any flaws.

Perhaps they are more of a Heavy Mental band. Wink
...a vigorous circular motion hitherto unknown to the people of this area, but destined
to take the place of the mud shark in your mythology...

Well, dead Camel or death Camel - regardless of that, I saw them play live at Night of the Prog this weekend. Certainly not metal, and not a massive stage show, but hearing flawless renditions of Ice and Lady Fantasy certainly made my evening.

Haven't seen them lately, but I saw Camel live several times and they struck me as one of the best live bands I ever saw.
