Hi!
I'm writing from Croatia, and I really found tons of music on this forums and listening it every day. We are prog rock enthusiasts even though our music is more space orientated. With a little help from our "friends" we managed to record our first album which is for now only in digital form, but we hope to find a label real quick and go for a vinyl. Our music is really vintage orientated and we use only 100% vintage analog equipment to reproduce it. Here are links to our release: Bandcamp: https://lizardsexist.bandcamp.com/releases and the full album as it should appear on CD and vinyl: Thank you all for keeping the good music alive! ^ please go for vinyl! There are a few labels in Europe that specialize in this kind of music and in vinyl, which you probably know already, so I am looking forward to spending some hear-earned cash on your record.

I'm glad that you like it.
We really did our best to make it sound as it should with all the vintage equipment and stuff. To make it sound "real" I haven't started even looking for labels, can you tell me what labels did you have in mind? |

I have nothing to do with the music industry (other than being a music consumer), but here are a few labels off the top of my head:
http://www.kscopemusic.com
http://tonefloatrecords.blogspot.com http://ninjatune.net There must be more. Also, I believe you said that to get your album released on vinyl you need €3K; have you considered crowdfunding?

Kickstarter, and then there is Indiegogo, and Fripp knows what else ..
I guess you won't find out if crowdfunding would work for you all until you try. If you don't ask, the answer is always "No" . I am beginning to wonder if Progarchives would be, at some point, interested in a "community fundraising" scheme of sorts, which would cater specifically to prog makers and listeners.

It would be great if such community would do that kind of stuff.
If they would, I would most certainly donate |

Thanks guys for the kind words, it will most definitely go on vinyl, CDs will be out by the end of January and we hope to score a deal with a label, if not, we will be forced to make vinyls on our own.
It is sad that you don't have a nice place to play in Croatia, people only like punk and metal. There are only a few people who like prog energy nowadays. And we really did our best to do it like they did it back then. |

There are others out there in Croatia, but I'm not sure if Seven That Spells is the only other band besides your own
They're pretty good though and close to the kind of sound you're going for.

I know Niko (Seven that Spells). They are way more aggressive with their approach, we like it more spacey. But they are one of the best musicians on the scene. They really are. And he is really aggressive with his promotion. He's been around for 11 years now.

Seriously; this music is vinyl-worthy in every respect. The sound, the structure and the timing. Under 23' on A, just a bit over 17' on B. Yum! I want this on the insert or somewhere, though: |

^ All right then; we have a (tentative) deal: you will have it released on vinyl, and I'll buy it.
I am looking at all non-jazz 2014 albums I have laid my hands on, and I feel that the Lizards is better than 75% of them. On behalf of all those who prefer instrumentals, many heartfelt thanks for not singing on the Lizards
Vinyl is important, and new releases should be treated seriously. I will be well prepared when your vinyl record is released. The cassette, slated for the Lizards analog copy , is ready. You will share it with the Zvérokruh, which would serve as a spine-chilling reminder about the dominant role of the Reptilians in the celestial affairs Edited by Argonaught - January 04 2015 at 17:00 |
