Wow, thought about not voting in this one as I thought it would be a landslide. Genesis... Are we sure there are no hanging chads for Genesis in the polls?

hmm.. liking it. Could we really have a true battle of heavies.. well at least the first close one of the tournament. It looks that way early.

Well, it's a question of when the Genesis fanboys turn up. This band can push Yes all the way and trounce Beatles on this forum. Don't think VDGG can hold out long enough, but it'll be interesting. By the way, voted Genesis. |
yeah. Thanks for the virtual slap across the face snapping me back to reality. The Genesis bobbleheads .. now THAT is an army.. with the only commander that can match General Micky in passion, hard headedness, and the arts of scortched earth warfare, winning at all costs tactics

Thanks for making that clear, except for...ummm...you know, whoever it is you're referring to.

I'm not a VDGG fan but I can't resist from voting against Genesis

The tyranny of the big groups must end. Plus Godbluff over the three great Genesis albums.

VdGG but my god that was close. What swung it was that VdGG have 2 masterpieces to Genesis 1, but that was not an easy vote at all and I would have voted for Genesis against almost any other band.
I'm not surprised VdGG are doing so well, we had a Prog World Cup a couple of years ago and if I remember right the final was VdGG vs GG.

I love both bands, but I'm going with the crowd. I hate to vote against the Van Damme classic Pawn Hearts, but then again I'd feel equally bad voting against an act who churned out The Lamb.
I have a sneaking suspicion that this tournament will end up with a Genesis - Floyd shoot out.....and I'm pretty sure that'll turn out in Pinky's favour.

VDGG are okay to an extent, but it always sounds to me like the music is in some sort of holding pattern. Genesis' music starts one place and then ends up in another. I like that.

he is something isn't he. He was my instructor when I was a mere cadet at the PA's Genre Team Academy. He did teach me everything I know.. well .. other than to pick good horses to ride into battle I suppose Easy to look good when you ride the pretty popular ones to battle

I don't think I've ever heard a Van Damme piece ending up the same place it started.

VDGG is more a band I respect rather than enjoy listening to. Genesis it is, especially after seeing Steve Hackett do his Revisited show a few days ago. Review forthcoming.

Genesis, by all logic, should be a band I love, yet I don't. This makes it impossible for me to understand how they have such a large and devoted fanboy following. It's decent music overlapped by absolutely awful singing from a guy who's usually dressed like a fool. Don't get me wrong, I love unique voices that make other people cringe (Peter Hammill, for example) but something about Peter Gabriel grinds my eardrums into the pavement. And as much as I dislike Genesis and will never understand them I love VDGG and was really hoping they'd have a chance in this poll.

VdGG did some great stuff, but Genesis is one of my favorite bands.
