ELP.
I'm not really a big fan of either, but ELP made an album I like.

My vote was for Camel

their debut. IMO, it was their most creative and most balanced album and it had no weak songs.

yeah it was a great one.  I figured that was the one, it usually is when it was only one album that connected.

Cheers! Thumbs Up

For me it's Tarkus.

BTW, I'm still abstaining.

The first 3 for me are letter perfect and connected hard, the 4th Trilogy, not bad but a bit too subdued for me. ELP is like a Italian sportcar.. not built for doing 55 but going full throttle.  BSS is a masterpiece but a flawed one as many of the masterpieces were. Very few real perfect masterpieces are ever truly found.

btw. Still counting on you in a close pinch! WinkLOL

Aphex Twin did do something similar, though. A swinging piano for Doppler Effect.

No contest for me, Tarkus, Brain Salad Surgery . . . so many great songs.  Camel leaves me quite numb.  ELP for the win!

ELP.

I dig Mirage and Nude from Camel, but could never get into Snow Goose and Moonmadness (I was hoping to due to the cool album title...oh well). Killer guitar solos though.

Still, I listen to ELP way more, and Greg is probably my fav prog vocalist from the 'classic' era. Love that "Battlefield" section of Tarkus so much.

Camel - to be honest a great band that I enjoy listening to, really, especially in my bed.

ELP are my favourite prog band, prog genius band - groundbreaking mind-blowing music, I consider them the pinnacle of prog.

Glad to be the one who's about to even up the score with my 31th vote for the tiger of prog. Wink
