I like some of New Trolls but not all their stuff.  Goblin are legendary but have also produced some 'patchy' stuff.  Think I might go with the newer band here.

The late New Trolls were too rubbish to be voted. I go with Goblin
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

Of the three I'd choose Goblin but none of these are favorites personally....

I'll vote Goblin who, although not one of my absolute favourite bands, did release `Roller', which is in my top 5 prog albums of all time, and probably my favourite instrumental album.

I don't mind some of the early New Trolls albums, but I don't listen to them too often. I also really dig Yugen's album `Mirrors', which I always keep a copy of in the car

I'll join the ranks of Roller fans on hereBig smile
As a matter of act, that's the only album from any of these artists that really connects with me, although The New Trolls did a marvellous little album called Tempi Dispari, back when they opted for the more spacy band name of New Trolls Atomic System. Probably to accommodate a more spacy sound methinks - as the album is a nice mix of space n jazz rock.

Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive

No contest. Goblin is one of my all-time faves for three decades now. I love their film scores, original albums, Claudio's solo albums, related bands (Cherry Five, Libra, Morte Macabre, Zombi), etc. Everything! (Well, everything except Volo...)

Not much to compare here, I'm afraid. I do enjoy the 'Trolls though.

Goblin although I'm not that fond of Roller. Love Suspiria and Profondo Rosso though.New Trolls is one of the worst prog bands I know of. New Trolls Atomic System were pretty good but another band.

I think I would choose Goblin as well, though I also like New Trolls and Yugen.

New Trolls.

When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.
