What's all this? Pick your favorite and least favorite albums by bands?
Guess I'll give it a go.

Thought of another one,

Blue Oyster Cult Cultosaurus Erectus/Mirrors.

Secret Treaties was a runner-up for their best, though.

Yes - Close To The edge - Big Generator  (lots of hate for open your eyes...I never heard it so I have to go with BG)

Genesis - Selling England - We Can't Dance

ELP - Emerson Lake And Palmer - Love Beach (even if the music were good, the cover alone makes it the worst!)

Rick Wakeman - Criminal Record - Crimes of Passion

Jon Anderson - Olias of Sunhillow - City of Angels.

Rush: 2112-Hold Your Fire (for that, i like Force Ten, Time Stand Still, and Mission, but i chose it as my least favorite because this is when the keyboards start to cross the line through the band, particularly Geddy and Alex, making it more of a prog pop album. that's all.)

Not counting EPs, compilations, soundtracks etc.

King Crimson: Red / Three of a Perfect Pair
Porcupine Tree: Deadwing / The Sky Moves Sideways
Opeth: Blackwater Park / My Arms Your Hearse
Yes: Fragile / Big Generator
Van der Graaf Generator: Godbluff / The Quiet Zone/The Pleasure Dome [not counting Alt]
Genesis: Selling England by the Pound / Calling All Stations [can't consider it a Genesis LP at all]
Uriah Heep: Demons and Wizards / Equator
Peter Hammill: The Silent Corner and the Empty Stage / The Noise

prog-related:
Black Sabbath: Black Sabbath / Seventh Star
Queen: Queen II / The Works
Rainbow: Rising / Straight Between the Eyes
David Bowie: The Man Who Sold the World / Never Let Me Down
Led Zeppelin: Led Zeppelin IV / Led Zeppelin I [actually their albums all are interesting and full of great moments, but this one always seemed to be the least interesting for me]

This night wounds time.

Emerson Lake & Palmer: Emerson Lake & Palmer/Love Beach
Genesis: Selling England By The Pound/Anything After 'A Trick Of The Tail'
Kansas: Leftoverture/Drastic Measures
King Crimson: Red/Earthbound
Pink Floyd: Animals/Ummagumma
Rush: A Farewell To Kings/Hold Your Fire
Yes: Fragile/90125

Those are for all the bands that I know anything about - I'm quite new to prog. Checking out Jethro Tull and Camel now.

^Taken as a whole Ummagumma is far more interesting and enjoyable to me than Animals, which does almost nothing for me these days.  While I enjoyed Animals in my youth it today strikes me as a band coasting, uninspired, and coming apart.  I think Waters taking control of the Wall is what made that effort so much better than Animals.

I know this opinion will not win me many friends here with all the Animals fanaticsLOL  That's OK, we all see each album a bit differently.
