Welcome!
Pretty good entry bands them all (I'm not familiar with Nightwish) but here you'l get to know sooooo much more good stuff, most probably endless.

I must also recommend to any Prog lover not familiar with the 70's classics (I am assuming, sorry if wrongly) to get to know them before venturing into other things, they may not always be 'the best' or end up being your favourites but they became the classics for something, they are the source and benchmark for much other Prog ever made.

Otherwise it's like starting by Einstein without getting first familiar with Newton.

Nothing says humble like bragging about how humble you are. As for me, I am a snob and I will never give anyone a break for any reason. Ever.

I don't mind Jethro Tull and some King Crimson songs are all right but my favourite bands are the more modern ones that I listed earlier. Also the Neal Morse band does not really have that title that is just my name for the group of musicians that Neal has on his solo albums and when he tours.

Yeah I have listened to some classics like Yes, King Crimson and Genesis but I don't really like it enough to purchase any albums. I prefer the more modern take on progressive music.

Bluenipper, you might enjoy this, it's a more heavy Yes song.
