I know you're just making a joke, but I'd sooner see Vangelis in Crossover.

Not that this is Crossover material:

Eclectic may be a possibility too.

Anyway, sorry for the digression.

Back to discussing Elton John (just cause I like this and we're on to a new page, I'm posting this again):

All rock is "prog related," because prog came from rock.

(Or is it that prog is rock-related?)

Whatever -- let 'em all in. Everything. No need to argue ever again.

Next, we need some more Neils: Sedaka and Diamond.

Someone here likes them, somewhere. Be fair.

Most likely because Elton John really isn't all that prog related. Tongue

If we accepted every band that had a few prog-related or hell full blown prog songs (Funeral for a Friend comes to mind), we'd have to accept half of all rock music ever made.

Everyone knows Elton John, he dosent need our help, why include him. You can put on his records even if he is not on PA.
If you want to review him :

Found this thread only now...I won't miss an opportunity to claim that Vangelis should be in a full prog sungenre....but I don't see much relations between Elton John and the prog world, apart of his early involvment with the Giles bros and the appearance in Tommy. Not tha I dislike, but he's mainstream glam pop and I don't see any track of prog in his music. I'd be more in favor of Neil Young in case Smile
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution
