When I grew up my dad smoked, my mom didn't except around the time of their divorce. I have never smoked anything, I always thought it was gross and the health class propaganda sealed the deal. But I do find the smell of smoke absorbed into clothing or skin nostalgic, it reminds me of my dad.

It's interesting, I only have one friend who smokes and he's about 5 years older than me. I think smoking is fading away.

Quit smoking 4 months ago - it's one of the hardest things I've ever done in my life (I'm 49)

I was a light smoker (about a pack a week) off and on for a long time, but I haven't had one in 6 months, so hopefully I won't have any more.

So glad to see I'm not the only one who's thought about "Pantera Bread"

This thread does make me crave some hookah.
There's a place in town but it also seems to be a club, somehow (how the hell do you manage that?) so I'll have to check it out. Once in a while, chilling with some hookah is glorious.

I'll be a third member of the "Pantera Bread" group.

I haven't been to a hookah bar in years but they were always fun. I slipped dollar bills into the belly dancer's bra :O

Don't Smoke. Dad does, he refuses to quit. It's gonna kill him probably and then I'll lol.... I mean cry, cry my heart out.

No really its a social tragedy and a family tragedy waiting to happen for millions of people. Someones got to stop it, I say burn the tobacco fields down to the ground and plant food.

Yes, but very very little. Usually one smoke every few days. I roll my own cigarettes, though, that makes it kind of rewarding and fun.

Tried it tried it tried it.
Don't like any of it really. Definitely never smoking marijuana again.
And like another person said, cigarettes make me feel a little sick. But only for a little bit.

Smoking is a blight. I smoked from age 16 to 29, then had one cigarette at age 31 during a stressful event. Other than that I have grown to loathe it. I loved my visit to Europe accept for the cigarette smoke EVERYWHERE! I visited the ski resort in Stubai Valley, Austria. A bus filled with 60+ year-olds get off the bus. Apparently a support group for throat/thyroid cancer survivors because every last one of them had a tracheotomy. Shortly after they all sit in down at patio tables in the afternoon sun some douche on a motorcycle pulls up, sits right next to them and lights a cigarette. Sadly, I know I was equally rude during my time as a smoker. It sickens me. I had no idea how obnoxious it is to non-smokers until I quit myself.

Also, while it has gotten better, smokers traditionally (including myself regretfully at the time) consider the world to be their garbage can/ashtray. Gutters, sidewalks, lawns, does not matter, they are all convenient places to throw a dead fag.

Sorry for ranting. I just hate it. Now my work is with people that have made poor health decisions, and some that are paying for the poor health decisions of others.
