^3.95 stars. Not that hated. Its just a very polarizing album. Much of its disregard is generated by the disregard it has from its own composer.

Ian Anderson isn't said to like that album?

I disliked APP before I heard about Anderson's own attitudes. And yes, he doesn't care for it either.

A couple more I remembered:
From Genesis to Revelation - All quality pop songs with a warm vintage atmosphere. I find its naivete pretty cute and like it much more than Abacrap or anything that came after.
Tool - Opiate and Undertow - These seem to get scorned around here because they're not as prog as their later works. I think they are wonderful metal albums with great lyrics, punchy production and not a single weak song.
Nine Inch Nails - With Teeth -  It's a strong enjoyable album even if it doesn't add much to the previous two.
Naked City - Leng Tch'e - Dunno what's up with the negative reviews, I think it's awesome.

Both albums by Il Maniscalco Maldestro. I actually decided to check them out thanks to the negative reviews from Torodd and Evolver, and I loved both. I'll write two 4-star reviews when/if I overcome laziness. They're both free downloads so check them out for yourself if a mix of Mr. Bungle and TMV with crazy Italian vocals sounds like a good idea.Tongue

I think the albums I dislike are the ones other people think other people dislike.

Rush - Presto
A masterpiece, imo, one of their best albums ever.

Roger Waters - The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking
I've seen that one getting plenty of flac, but I think it's a great album, and - dare I say it? - better than The Wall.

I also think Blue Lambency Downward is the best Kayo Dot album.

Jethro Tull - Dot Com (the song)
Yes - I'm Running; Owner of a Lonely Heart; Changes
Soft Machine - Over 'n' Above; (Black) Velvet Mountain
Genesis - From Genesis to Revelation album and most of the 80's stuff, hard to name each song
Pink Floyd - Everything considered hated by them, if there is such stuff (I suppose The Final Cut and MLoR)
King Crimson - Neal and Jack and Me; Heartbeat
Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer; Don't Give Up
