Bruford plays drums as if he's shelling peas. An absolute genius.

Bariemore Barlow was such a complex, frenetic drummer that he made you sweat just listening to him. Bonham named him as something's (The World's???, Brittain's??!) best drummer in the history of the universe...so he must have been good.

Bozzio is definitely up there.

I'll go with a mixture of well-known ones and unknown ones. Hard to make a ranking though..

1) Pierre Moerlen R.I.P.)
2) Christian Vander
3) Mani Neumeier
4) Christian Burchard
5) Jon Hiseman (I am a bit surprised he does not appear more often)
6) Ramesh Shotham
7) Trilok Gurtu
8) Freddy Setz (R,I.P.)
9) Zabba Lindner
10) Harald Grosskopf

I could have named many others though.

BaldJean and I; I am the one in blue.

I am new here so I will try to keep my list legal since the differences between proto-prog-prog-related are quite confusing to me
10-Bill Bruford
9-Terry Bozzio
8-Jon Hiseman
7-Chris Cutler
6-Christian Vander
5-Daniel Denis
4-Tony Williams
3-Billy Cobham
2-Chad Wackerman
1-Vinnie Colaiuta
I would loved to have voted or suggested either Ian Paice or Ginger Baker anyway hope these can count in some way as I had a heck of a time trying to give points, would rather have given 10 to all of them
