Perhaps but we can't censor people's thoughts.

What people think is way more offensive than what they say.

I don't even know what I'm trying to say, so don't ask. Ermm

hah!

But really in boredom, I like to peruse random profiles and have seen profiles that age. Usually not active but crazy to think how young! I didn't even listen to any music until I was like 13 Shocked
As for swearing I've heard 9 year olds online with PS3 that used some pretty profane language. But that's getting off topic.

Interesting to see all of you spending time on a discussion and then ending your posts with 'I don't care...' Deep inside, you do, I guess...

"I would prefer it gone, but I can deal with it staying."

I know kids as young as 12 and 13 may be reading this site but honestly, you're gunna see it somewhere. LOL
And pretty sure most of us knew, and maybe dropped, the F bomb, at 13. Or younger Embarrassed it's just a website anyway.

Guess I don't really care either way, but I already voted for what I said at first so...shucky darns!

I went for option three.  I think it works as it is.  We can tell what people are trying to say and what is more important, what it means in context.  Most times people swear round here it is just for comic effect.

Nope, I don't give a flying f**k! one way or the other,

Well, it boils down to M@x then, and what his reasons for keeping the profanity rules in place are. I don't think that by loosening them up a bit this place would turn into YouTube. And even if it did, the rule could always be reinstated.
For MMA he scrapped the rule and the censor. However, there it was messing up the URLs and biographies of a fair number of metal bands.

And us metalheads like to swear TongueLOL

The auto-censor acts on data input, so the changed word is stored in the database, not the original. So in answer to your question, no we cannot tell the difference, but we do know you didn't mean fork, funk or fisk.

This in itself kills any idea of having the auto-censor as a client-side option.
What?
