Just trying them out, listening to some tracks from Adultery now.

My god "Moonlight City Drive" sounds exactly like Mr. Bungle.

According to them the band sounded like alternative metal! That's a comment from someone who clearly haven't heard DFD (or alternative metal?).

Huh, alternative metal??? Yea, and I'm Octomom.

Why do they need a new album to add them to PA?

Rules I guess. Something about decisions being final unless there is new information.

It's because they've been rejected already.

I support DFD for PA, and suggested it myself at one time (been suggested once before that and twice after that including this one), though I think I should have put it to the art rockers (Crossover or Eclectic) rather than having it go through the PMT (was rejected by avant before that).  Sometimes bands have been rejected when they probably should have given a move vote (after all, one team is usually not an expert on another team's category).  Adultery is PA relevant to me.

I think it at least PR worthy, but would rather not make a case for it to admin and let fashionable sleeping disco dogs lie.

For reference purposes, here are past discussions:

You're right, at least if you rephrase it like "bands should be considered if they take in considerable influences from an established Prog band".
By means of comparison, PA list anything that sounds remotely like Genesis or Yes. So the "if X then Y" is perfectly logical reasoning. I can't see what's wrong with that.

Not being a specialist on either bands I know them enough to see how mr Bungle is regarded as full-blown avant-prog and DFD is not.
DFD would be a good match for 'art metal' in exp/post though (they are at least 50% mr Bungle) so I can't understand them being rejected frankly.

@Bonnek-I agree wholeheartedly. The really funny thing is that Polkadot Cadaver is already here and they are basically a less prog version of the same band. Sex Offender was almost radio-viable.

Edit: Oi, Rune, did you see this?

From wiki: "On June 25, 2011, at the second of two consecutive reunion shows, Dog Fashion Disco announced it will be releasing an acoustic album. This album will be released on their new record label, Razor To Wrist. Attendees of the reunion shows with VIP passes were provided with a code that allowed them to download an acoustic version of their song "Sweet Insanity." That concert series will also be released via DVD at a later date."

That's a pretty big almost! LOL

Let's skip this discussion and hope that Knives Out will get added once their new record hits the streets! Thumbs Up

It's not funny at all, mr. Rune would have come to slit our throats had we voted against them LOL

So a band that's basically the exact same is here and they aren't? That's...odd.

I just came to look at their ratings on the site and maybe rate 100% positive they'd be here and they aren't. Huh. Think that should be rethought for sure.
