Polkadot Cadaver is here, so DFD seems like shoe in for sure. RIO/Avant maybe? Pretty dern similar to some of the Bungle stuff IMO.

I'd say so, yeah! They are reminiscent of Mr. Bungle, and their phoenix project Polkadot Cadaver is here under prog metal.

They've already been rejected in RIO / Avant and Metal.

Hmm, well it really seems like they should be here, somewhere. It'd be a shame not have them on here just because we can't figure out what box to shove them in.

Hmm, ever considered that the fact that a band doesn't fit any of our boxes is the reason why we reject them? Confused

I admit there are cases where decisions are pending because bands fit multiple boxes, but I don't know if DFD is such a case, unless we add Faith No More first and then have all Patton clones to join the party.

Ask Rune2000, he's our DFD/Polkadot specialist Big smile

- A.C.T
- Cardiacs
- Dog Fashion Disco
- Genesis
- Gentle Giant
- King Crimson
- The Residents
- Univers Zero

Well it would be a remarkable non-prog band in a list of proggies, but it's just circumstantial evidence that will not be withheld. Approve
Hej wait, there's not one metal band there Angry

I'd say that KC are pretty metal. Other than that... you're right!

Meshuggah was a clear candidate for one of my top favorites until they re-released "Nothing"... it's been downhill from there and on.

Let the rejected rest in peace.
Though I have seen on this forum that bands rejected for one sub got picked up by another...

^ I don't agree with this notion considering that DFD have been wrongly rejected by the previous PMT.
According to them the band sounded like alternative metal! That's a comment from someone who clearly haven't heard DFD (or alternative metal?).

I rather meant that there's no way around the rules (unless new material and such...)
Listening to these samples here and I'm a bit surprised admitted, there is alt metal in there but lots of other stuff as well, prog amongst it. Clearly avant-metal.

That's why I've been begging the guys at Razor To Wrist Records to release some more DFD material. Preferably a live recording of the recent reunion concert or b-side material.
