You should hear Love and Desire album by Manuel Gottsching if you haven't already. That's my go-to album for background music while writing research papers.

I haven't yet, but I'll look into it...I love Manuel's playing, whether it be on guitar or keys/electronics/whatever...between Ash Ra Tempel's stuff and Ashra's, I'm all like "I Heart

Manuel Göttsching" (in a non-erotic way).

Also: Do you perhaps mean Dream and Desire?

I happened to find E2-E4 at an used store a little while back. I purchased it because I knew that he was a prog artist and I was shocked to find something from him, but I've not actual got around to listening to it yet.
