Aw balls, lost Kevin Boss to the Raiders. Shame, he was a good blocker and was a tall target who really held on to the ball and trucked. Gunna miss him.
Like I've said any offense can be stopped, and Vick made impressive improvements as a passer but it was just one season and he did kind of tail off. Have to see if he maintains, continues to improve and will he stay healthy. It's the Asomugha addition that is the most frightening.
I do want to say the Eagles won't win a Super Bowl until they run the ball more (when they do it's damn effective) but I fear those days are over. I liked the Packers a lot but they never ran it consistently, pretty much reliant on their passing game. Though it was pretty traditional so I was OK with it.

All the tv "experts" are drooling over the Eagles and all their additions but... when are they going to get a QB? From what I've seen their biggest offseason move was letting their post-Vick-returning-to-pre-prison-form safety net go to the desert and adding a backup with no prayer of ever succeeding in this league. Yeah, I'd be real hyped up if I were an Eagles fan, what with a speed RB as my starting QB and 3rd-string TE as my backup QB. No chance, Eagles, no chance. Did anyone watch how Vick ended last year?
Anyway, going to go all out with full divison record predictions:
AFC EAST:
Buffalo Bills: 6-10
Miami Dolphins: 8-8
NE Cheatriots: 12-4
NY Jets: 13-3
AFC NORTH Baltimore Birdies: 10-6
Cincy Bungles: 3-13
Cleve Brownies: 5-11
Pittsburgh Steelers: 13-3 (I know, I'm biased, but we have a really soft schedule)
Oh dear, triple post already? Cmon we should be excited!
If Stafford stays healthy, Scott's Lions could be dangerous. 2010 was not a bad season, and that was without a QB! They've added Tulloch and Durant, 2 damn good LBs. That good D-line. A full season from Stafford and that may be one potent team!
Also glad the G-men have gotten a new punter. Everyone knows the infamous Eagles game/Coughlin incident but take it from someone who saw all 16 games. Matt Dodge does not have what it takes. He was so bad I'd be cool if they cut him, put the defense in so many sh*tty spots and can't afford that again.
Well the LB situation makes sense. I had no idea, apparently the Giants have a bad cap situation. Also partly explains Osi, even if they wanted not sure they could even fit him in. Jacobs actually restructured his contract to help keep Bradshaw...dude is a true team player in every sense.
Rumors are Osi's deal has been dropped to a 2nd round pick, and some interested teams are the Rams and Pats. Others as well but I forget. I feel more confident about the Giants team to cut Osi loose, the Pats would not be a yearly threat to the Giants and cmon...I know he's 29 but how can you not give up a 2nd round pick for someone who posted 11.5 sacks and 10 forced fumbles last year??
Absolutely not, that's when the team needs to decide how toxic Osi is. May sounds like BS to many but addition by subtraction can work, especially with a cancer. Giants are living proof, and I do think they have the pieces to cover it. I just don't know how bad Osi is/the team chemistry. If I was a GM and felt it was bad enough, f**k it trade the guy for something. Just keep him off a division rival at least.
I just can't believe how many LB's out there that got passed up. Nick Barnett, Thomas Howard, Justin Durant, Barrett Ruud, Posluzny, Tulloch!
If Vick stays healthy the offense is certainly ferocious but any offense can be stopped. Its the Asomugha, Samuel, Rodgers-Cromartie trio that seems like it should be illegal! That is the most frightening thought.

Eagles have been ignoring the linebacker position for years so I understand your pain there.
Well the Vikings obviously don't care. They went for f**kin Favre, dude was gunna give you 12 games (which he didn't even manage). McNabb is not in his prime of course but cmon, the Redskins had some of the worst talent in the NFL, likewise the Vikings have a pretty good team. He'll have a good year. But yeah, probably should've picked up a long term QB over the last 2 drafts
Looks like your Eagles picked up Ronnie Brown. With the Eagles pass happiness and McCoy I'm not sure how he'll even find snaps, but one hell of a back.
The Eagles have won in August for sure. Let's see if it will help them win in February though
Unlike the Vikes, G-men have filled needs...they also have big ol Linval Joseph and rookie DT stud Marvin Austin. I say trade Osi out of division (preferably conference) for something decent and never look back. Jets need a pass rusher badly.
No way they get a 1st for Osi.
Looking forward to beating the Giants two times yet again.

You got what you paid for him, one great year. Just glad that a****le is gone for good!
From what I know about Ponder, not much admittedly, he looks like a good developmental QB, deff chance of becoming a good NFL player. Personally, I liked Ryan Mallet. If I needed a QB, and had a good O-line, he'd be my pick. Dude is like 6'7", rocket arm, played in a normal offense.

Pat, you think this Christian Ponder is for real in a couple years?
And this year, is McNabb likely to be anymore effective than Favre was?
I think that McNabb still has more left in the tank than Favre did. He's a flawed player (so is Favre actually), but if they manage the offense right he should still give them a solid season. He certainly won't turn the ball over like Favre did last season.
When guys show up to camp out of shape I'm always amazed. You're in a career where you'll play for 10 years if you're incredibly, incredibly lucky, and you risk that longevity because you don't feel like training in the offseason?
I'm really not a Christian Ponder fan. Although, I'm really not a college football guy so I don't have much of a real opinion on him. I feel like a lot of teams overdrafted from a mediocre QB crop this year.

Eagles keep amazing. They sign Ronnie Brown to a 1 year $1 million contract. Great signing. I've always loved him. He's a perfect fit for Reid's offense.

Yes, but it at least gives the Vikings a tackling dummy to throw out there until Christian Ponder gets up to speed (and I'm not sure Ponder is the answer either). The NFC North is particularly hard on QBs, what with Suh, Julius Peppers, Jared Allen, B.J. Raji and such. Cutler was a human pinball last year, Stafford got knocked out early and Aaron Rodgers had a concussion.
He's not a bad fit for the Vikings. I was talking about the Cards trying to pretend that he was a viable option for them.

Eagles fans are very happy indeed.
I feel like Haynesworth can work out, I think the Ochocinco signing was a waste of time.
I thought the opposite on this one. I thought Haynesworth was a waste of time, and that Ochocinco is going to put up some big numbers with Brady throwing it to him.

The local media is really trying to hype up the Lions' chances this year. Personally, I'll be surprised if they exceed 7 and 9 or 8 and 8. After so many years of disappointment I am taking the wait and see approach here, but I am perfectly happy to jump on the bandwagon when the time is right. Did you see where Stafford "guaranteed" that he wouldn't get hurt and would be playing the entire season this year? I LOL'ed.
