It actually reminds me a lot of Moth Vellum. And since Moth Vellum broke up without recording a follow up to their fantastic debut, I think I'll find a lot to enjoy on this album with the right mindset.

Meh, at first listen, it reminds me of Starcastle.

No way!  This sample positively exudes Drama.

I am very much excited.

That isn't Benoit David singing, is it?

Go to iTunes and listen to the remaining samples.  I thought Drama was decent, but not more than that.

I readily admit I was overcritical of Drama in my review, and i really should up my rating.

It's not a one star album, but, even saying this, I would only give it two stars. I really, genuinely, do not like it, and the only reason I'll get this new one is for the sake of a complete record collection, something I rather resent.

I just read your review- wow!  I think Drama is an excellent album.  I have fond memories of sitting in my dingy little apartment in Georgia in the cold weather and just enjoying the chilly atmosphere of "Run Through the Light" or the positive groove of "Tempus Fugit."  Smile

I think it's about the only album we have had a serious disagreement on in terms of ratingsSmile

Not particularly excited about it from that sample.  The comparisons to Drama are apt, but, like lazland, it's not an album I'm especially partial to.

"radio edit" - does anyone listen to radio besides me?  Even at that, I don't listen to much music on radio, in Chicago, it is a mix of Led Zepplin, Journey, Styx, and other AOR all the time.  Quite boring for the most part.

The mixed reactions here are throwing me off. I don't like listening to samples from new albums, but I may have to, to see how I feel about this music Angry

Sounds actually kinda... Good. I didn't think I'd be saying that about an album put out in 2011 by a band from the 70s

Agreed.

I've noticed that numerous posters on Facebook Notes From The Edge agree with me that the new Yes material is highly reminiscent of Starcastle.

How the mighty have fallen.  I've had to drown my woes in my new CD of "Tales."   Interesting remix, the ambient beginning to "Revealing Science of God" is a nice change, although I think I prefer the original.

Based on the iTunes samples I would say a great production (I also liked the production on 90125) but doesn't this sound more like Asia? Perhaps not a surprise as they have been much more visible the last couple of years with both Downes and Howe.

I would purchase it just for the guitar and bass work of Mr's Howe and Squire.

The samples sounds like some of the 00s Yes-inspired bands, but not as good as Yesterdays, for example.

Interesting to see discover that while I thought Benoit can sound exactly like Jon when playing Yes material, he doesn't remind me of Jon anymore now that they're playing new, original material.

I also noticed that!  Is that Benoit, or Trevor?

Still sounds like Starcastle to me, but I'd need to hear the entire CD before I give it thumbs up or down.

So is the opening epic one long piece - that flows from track to track like one long song?

Insipid lyrics, but the composition style is pretty good.  I'm looking forward to giving this one a chance.

Sounds interesting, I'll definitely be getting it. I hadn't realised the title song had already been on a Buggles album.
