I don't deify either. I really LIKE close to the Edge, but find myself not giving a damn about Supper's Ready.

Well at least you didn't call it the "Smells like teen spirit" of Prog.

At least twice for me, but that only goes back as far as my dim memory will take me. I believe I said the same thing the last time as well: CTTE is an integrated whole while SR is a suite of connected pieces. Both are great to be sure, but I am going for the one that has to come in its entirety as opposed to the one I can break up.

As already stated by many, two great tunes. My vote goes to CTTE because it has a strong sensory trigger from when I was a teenager and lounging around my folks pool in the summer. For me CTTE is the perfect exemplification of what a summer day by the water would sound like.

Supper's Ready by a mile.
Don't get me wrong, I love CTTE too, but c'mon, "Supper's Read" is just PERFECT.
"Willow Farm" and "Apocalypse In 8/9" are fantastic.

Please don't ask me to choose between these two. I like them a lot, and it's impossible for me to decide for one or the other.

Close to the Edge may be my favourite album, but Supper's Ready may be my favourite epi.c
