He's more interested in cars....

But it doesn't matter in Floydian music because none of them are virtuosos.

In King Crimson, Mr Mason would be fired after a week!

Still, Mason was the best drummer for Pink Floyd. A Bruford or a Palmer wouldn't have fitted the music at all.

I don't agree; A Great Day for Freedom and Take It Back are good tracks, while Marooned and Coming Back to Life are awesome tracks but yes High Hopes is the best of the album. The Best track made by any band after the 70's, imo.

interesting, I always thought A Great Day for Freedom and Take It Back are exactly the album's (and PF entire carrier) low points, with Marooned and Coming Back to Life not much better as well. I have to agree about High Hopes though.

lol, I share your sentiment.  Sometimes, stretching for the sake of it becomes 'epic'.

Although I reckon they would get too bored to hang around in Floyd, if called on, they would have had the adaptability to adjust to Floyd's music and play. It's not necessary they would have been too fill-happy and spoiled the songs. Bruford did play drums sensitively for Fallen Angel, for instance.
