The most pretentious musician is obviously Roger Daltrey, going in front of an audience and telling them you are performing an opera for them as a rock n roll band is the very definition of pretentious

Sadly, that might violate the delicate balance of decorum. I love Waters' music (most of the time), but the man has an ego more firmly inflated than any large rubber pig. |

Sorry guys... you're heads are way too deep in prog. When it comes to the most pretentious musican, there's only one possible answer: Yngwie Malmsteen...

Roger Waters. Anyone who advances an entire album theme based upon his proclivity for spitting on his fans during live shows is just a pompous, disrespectful asshat.

Satriani and Toby Driver, pretentious??? Well, I guess I have some interviews to read... But I never heard such words about Satriani (after all, the guys from Deep Purple seemed to enjoy playing with him rather than with Ritchie "I-won't-play-Smoke-On-The-Water-on-the-whole-world-tour" Blackmore)

Roger Waters!!!!
then:
Robert Fripp
Keith Emerson
Christian Vander
Toby Driver
Steve Wilson
Joe Satriani
Ritchie Blackmore
Serj Tankian....
So, a little bit of pretentiousness is needed in a career of every musician, I mean.
