Packers play a great first half despite dropping two dead interceptions by Brady. Then they give up a huge return with 2 mins remaining to the right guard after a squib quick. Disgraceful

And to think Pat, I was pretty courteous before the game and if we won I was only going to use mild boasting
![]() You're lucky...I decided I was not going to make any FB statuses and let you say anything here because frankly, it's deserved. 28 points in 7minutes, NO points scored in the whole half despite putting up 31 in the first, the special teams fell apart. They contained Vick the whole damn game and got a few sacks on him until the end. I can't even complain about Jackson's epic douchebaggery. Enjoy this one Pat. But remember, if the Giants get into the playoffs as the 6th seed and need to play the Eagles....they've been there before and beaten the team that beat them twice during the year ![]() And Eli had his best passing game of the year. Eli. And imagine how pissed the Giants are. I'd be worried if we meet again ![]() |

The mocking was the case of Guinness talking not me. That must have sucked to be at that game. Yes Eli did play great.

Caio....get out of here man lol
I had a feeling that was the case Pat. To be fair, it was GREAT being at that game until the final 8 minutes. And the crowd wasn't even angry at first! We were in so much shock. I may be nuts but: Watch out for the Giants. If they beat Green Bay they are in the playoffs. They DO have talent, they'd be underdogs, and can play with some passion now. Alot of that 07 SB team is still here now.... If they end up playing the Eagles again (likely so) I'm not that worried. I know it says 0-2 but even you can't deny, they could've won both these games. If they are to ever pull it all together now would be a great time... |

Oh, and Matt Dodge needs to go.
Sorry G-men that you spent a draft pick on him....but his bad play put the team in a lot of bad places all year. I assumed that punt straight to Jackson was Coughlin's doing, but apparently he was told by him, and others, to kick it out of bounds. Heard a few stories of what happened, but either he: Just didn't listen, had a brain fart, EPICALLY botched it. Regardless, he needs to go after this year. Hell, call back Feagles for a few games. And finally, I feel sorry for Coughlin. Every loss the NYC metro area wants his head on a plate. He's taking a ton of flak now for emasculating Dodge on the field, while everyone was still there. Sure, maybe not the best way to handle it....but who on Earth will not be pissed? Your team gave up 28 points in 8 minutes, and with it a division title, possibly the #2 seed, and maybe maybe....the playoffs entirely. A lot went wrong, but in the end...Dodge f**ked up royally and cost them OT. This is after a terrible year punting... I doubt I'd be able to restrain myself either. I don't know about that. I don't think they had a chance in the first game. It never even should have been that close. We dropped three TD passes that are caught 99% of the time. Even the second game 21 points of yours came off of blown calls. You can argue that the Maclin call was good, but clearly Jackson didn't fumble and Nicks didn't catch that third and 18 ball. They are a good team though. I can't say I'm afraid of playing them in the playoffs. The only teams which honestly scare me are the Saints, Patriots, and Steelers. If the Eagles play either of the later two I'll be a happy man. Edited by Equality 7-2521 - December 21 2010 at 07:42 |

You could see as soon as the punter got rid of it, before Jackson even scored, Coughlin was in a field. There was a great shot where you can read his lips "I WANTED IT OUT OF BOUNDS." Poor kid. Must suck to be him right now. The high snap threw him off. It was a big moment for a rookie. There's really no reason to crucify Dodge. You have to realize that DJack wasn't in the endzone when he fielded the punt. There were a lot of breakdowns on that play. When coverage realized Jackson muffed it, they quit. When they tried to recover, they couldn't get off their blocks. They were manhandled. Also, what happened before that play? Your onside kick team played 50 yards off the line during a kickoff making it impossible to defend against the onside kick. Your defense let Vick accumulate 90 rushing yards in 8 mins and score 21 points. Your offense couldn't get a first down to seal the victory. It was a team loss. I like Coughlin a lot as a coach actually, but the way he conducted himself was disgraceful. He let his punter take the fall for the entire team. |

Agree - it gets silly to blame Dodge, it was the entire team that put itself in that position to begin with.

You know that doesn't matter Pat. 99% of the time?
Well that time they didn't. Giants could've won first game, regardless they were in it. And you mentioned those blown calls. Big whoop. First, that Jackson one...why didn't Reid challenge? It was pretty obvious and happened right in front of the Eagles! Still doesn't matter, take away the bad calls. When the Giants had the ball they were still moving it at will and more importantly they had the Eagles shut down. Of course you're happy, but realistically....there's no way you can twist it. The Giants could've won the second game, you can't say there was no chance. I'm being polite, of course. They should have won that second game. I give all credit to the Eagles....but that Celek TD was a blown coverage. Vick and D-Jack are freaks, but Celek? And he had literally a quarter of the field OPEN. He was in total space and still juked a bit, even he thought someone had to have been near him. But I'm fine with this. You say you're not scared to play the Giants again, and most will agree. Gooood! It will be a tough game, but if they can beat Green Bay they're in the playoffs and will be in a very familiar situation.... Most of that 07 team is still here as well... And I'm not blaming Dodge for the loss. It WAS a team collapse.
The defense deserves the most blame...but one field goal would've ended the game. Hell, a sustained drive would've done it! Not to mention Coughlin not even preparing for the onside kick, which was possibly the biggest mistake all game. Though it being a team game, while they should've never been in the position...they were. It's was crunch time and Dodge caved. And add on to the fact he's still not had one good game start to finish this season...Maybe not being fans you don't get the grasp of it.... His best game punting was probably that Eagles one actually, until that he's been highly inconsistent. There were TWO games in which he dropped the ball when spiked to him. One of those times he dropped it twice in a row. The snaps were fine, and dry as a bone.... High snap, rookie....I don't care. You guys can't disagree good players are made when the pressure is on. Dodge should not get all the flak he is, but his whole season has been mediocre and consistently choked under pressure. I see no reason he should be kept. One final one, I don't see it as disgraceful.
It was not handled properly....but cmon. Just imagine being in his spot, and again given Dodge's pretty poor season. What happened in the heat happened, and sure it looked bad. But you guys also don't have NY sports media really. Trust me. Dodge is NOT taking the fall for the team. He's been criticized a lot, but most people seem to realize blaming him is crazy. Even Antrel Rolle said that the defense was entirely to blame, and not even the offense should be faulted....since 31 points was good and the D should've never allowed it to happen. (His words) Don't worry, Dodge has not been thrown under the bus. The team and fans know the entire NY Giants pissed it away. Eh, Im in a pissy mood is all. Long day at work and on the way home I called The Fan, just for fun. I actually was put on hold to be put on the air. This a major NYC sports station keep in mind. I was definitely going to be on the air soon and the call just ended!!! ![]() Edited by JJLehto - December 22 2010 at 01:09 |

Should have won a game also doesn't matter JJ. I agree the Giants probably should have won that second game, I'm just saying a lot of those points came off big blown calls. |

I found it disgraceful. You don't call out one player, especially a rookie, on the field while a play is still in progress. You don't call him out in the post-game. It was a team loss. Honestly, the game was probably lost before that punt was ever kicked. |

Not that it matters, but I just rewatched the game. The Celek td actually wasn't blown coverage. You ran a zone blitz with Tuck dropping to cover Celek with safety help over the top. Vick put the ball between in the 7 yards between Tuck and the FS. FS tried to make a play at the ball, but missed leaving him in no position to tackle Celek.

Blown coverage, missed tackle....regardless .
Point I was making was just that unlike D-jack and Vick that Celek TD was a Giants screw up. And that's another thing I totally forgot about. It wasn't done often, but a few time they dropped Tuck into coverage. No....just no. The best pass rusher on the team, and dropping him into coverage?? He needed to be going at Vick every snap, especially considering Vick pretty much had to throw it by that point. Another serious coaching mistake. But I'm officially over that game. Beat the Pack and they are in the playoffs. As much as I want the Eagles to be the #2 seed.....I kind of hope they get #3 and have to play the Giants again. |

By that reasoning pretty much every touchdown is a screw-up defensively.
Yeah I don't remember the down and distance, but I do think it was third and medium to long by memory. No excuse there. Have to have one Tuck going at the qb there. Eagles did a similar thing on third and long where they dropped Cole into coverage. Pissed me off. That's fine on other downs, but third and long you need your best pass rusher going at the qb.
