Gotta give it to the Crimson Kings. Even though I own much more Pink Floyd (everything but more), i find the four Crimson albums I own (Court, Red, Lizard, Power) much more interesting.

Two epic bands but against Floyd, King Crimson will always be the best for me.

They both deserve a vote, so I gave mine to Floyd because they're losing.

Genesis would not have a chance against Pink Floyd, even if they had passed the semifinals against KC. Only the prog heavy artillery of KC can battle PF until the end. Plus, there are lots of Tool fanboys that will normally support KC here. @Poll maker, is there gonna be a third place match between Genesis and Rush? That would be interesting.

Ah, the wooden Spoon prize of progability. Rush v. Genesis... my guess is that Genesis would edge it but it would be close... all good clean fun.

I think Genesis would win that handily, but who knows? Maybe the prog metal folks would swing it for Rush.

Genesis would win easy with an about 7:3 ratio.
Unless the question was who are the most skilled musician, than it would be very close and probably Rush would win.

Sadly, I'm not really bothered. All my favourite bands have fallen by the wayside But I like both of these almost equally. I vote PF for The Wall really and I listen to more of the otther PF than KC.
Lets have another Genesis V Yes comp.

My vote goes to : KING CRIMSON Reason: The pushed the boundaries of PROG with most of their releases, very innovative !
Thanks for the organization of this BATTLE OF THE PROG BANDS, very nice initiative !!!

Is that Genesis or Philesis that deserves the title?

In most of the polls for this tournament I have voted for the group that I had been listening to for a longer time. In this case it will be the opposite. Pink Floyd have been with me almost my entire life, and I enjoy almost everything they've made. I heard ITCOTCK like 10 years ago, and really liked it, but for some reason was never interested in going deeper into King Crimson's discography. So happy I finally did only a couple years ago. It still blows my mind how clearly inspiration they have been for so many of the more modern bands I enjoy; stuff like Primus, Tool, even the Talking Heads; virtually anything that combines jazz elements with a heavier/distorted guitar-centric sound. It really doesn't get any better than KC.

Pink Floyd - very difficult to surpass Wish You Were here in my mind. Then, to back that up, you have Dark Side of the Moon, one of the most iconic albums of all time, and also other great albums like Animals. Added to that Gilmour is one of my favourite guitarists.
