IMO what's not to like about that?

I just hope your Saints don't make the same mistake of keeping that D the same and not really freshening it up. Oh, and hope they don't lose the coach that kept them inspired Disapprove

I agree.....Falcons owned the Saints secondary on Sunday....Had Favre been the better QB in the opener, that score would have been like 34-14 Viks.

Yikes!

And also what is your beef with the Saints?

I don't like Sean Peyton. I hate Shockey. I dislike Bush. I don't like teams with bad defenses. They're an overrated team, which annoys me. I don't like how people thought they deserved to win games because New Orleans was hit by a hurricane. They also beat the McNabb-less Eagles in the Divisional Playoffs in 2006.

Katrina has nothing to do with the Saints success..its a feelgood story that happens to coincide with the Saints winning ways. Eq...you are too young to understand why folks like me are happy the Saints are winning.....there is a LONG history of not winning in New Orleans. I lived there for sometime, went to college there, my wife is a Cajun coon a$$.....The support for the Saints really never faultered during the late 70's and 80's. Their loosing history took backseat to Katrina, why? Cause it was a better story for the media.

If you don't like someone its usually because you know them personally, I seriously doubt you "know" Sean and Bush....so you hate them because they are good. Sean is mentioned by all in the NFL as brilliant coach/manager of NFL. what you lack is respect for those that are good in what they do. Bad defense?? 2009 for the Saints was all about their defense, just look at the numbers, they don't lie....You must have been watching a different NFL than the rest of the US last year Confused

Deserving to win and actually winning are black and white.....all teams deserve to win, the ones that do are the better teams by definition. I don't think there are different rules for the Saints when they play? The other teams don't just lay down when they play the Saints..you don't make any sense on this.

I am not a Detroit fan.....but damn its time for them to win....and why not? With all the auto industry problems Detroit also needs a feel good story and a reason to win....I guess you don't think that should happen either...right? Sports brings people together, whether you like it or not.

I am not a NY Yanks fan, that team has been purchased and you can even argue some of their World Series Championships have been bought.......But I do respect the fact that players like Jeter, A-roid, Rivera are excellent at what they do.

Never said Katrina had something to do with their success. I said I don't like how the league rooted for them just because of Katrina. There's nothing I'm too young to understand. The Eagles have a long history of not winning. What does that matter? I'm sure Saints fans loved seeing them win. I don't care. I didn't enjoy it. I dislike them.

The Saints were all about their defense? Are you stupid? I thought it was all about Peyton's offensive schemes, their huge receivers, and the fact that Brees is a hyper-accurate, amazing QB. Their defense got lucky with the big plays.

I don't know where I said the Saints didn't earn their championship.

I don't think Detroit deserves to win. They're a bad team and a poorly managed franchise. You're doing exactly the thing I dislike. You're saying they deserve to win because the city has suffered. I don't care. I'm not going to feel good when they win.

I don't respect players who do Roids btw.

Exactly!!! You don't like them because they are winners....I have ZERO issue with that, as I mentioned very early on.
To me lucky is when the offense fumbles the ball on their own, without any help from the defense and the D gets the ball. But stripping the ball, interceptions (I think they led the league), blocked punts.....is not lucky. That is a defense that wanted the ball more than the offense wanted to keep it....Saints D took it away...period. Fumble recoveries are won by the player that wanted it more....That's not luck.

In the NFL ,IMO, there are way too many stupid rules, its becoming a girls game where you can't hit anyone and "luck" as you say is becoming a bigger component of the game. There are too many rules against the defense, so luck is a needed part of the game. Defense needs to be good enough to cause enough disruption in the offense to cause those "lucky" plays.

I'll be honest, I do some holes in the D. But they seem to make up for it by maintaining pressure on the QB, forcing turnovers, and being opportunistic. And just like with Spag...you have Williams managing the D. The guy to keep them united and playing out of their bodies.
And you guys also have a great offense, which helps LOL

The Lions beat the Bears in week 1 except for a bad call at the end, and the Bears beat the Packers on Monday night, so it is only logical that the Lions will beat the Packers on Sunday. Big smile

Where from that highlighted portion did you get that? That's not why I dislike them. The Colts are winners, much more so than the Saints in recent years. I adore the Colts.

Fumbles are not recovered by those who want it more. It's largely a function of who happens to be there. I've already explained the obvious role luck can play in a defense. Judging anything by the eye is a terrible method, but its the only data I have on it so I go off of that. From that I conclude that had some lucky breaks on defense. If someone compiles film of it all. I'll watch it, take some data down, and review my position.

I don't think luck is increasing at all. I think since the instigation of instant replay a lot of luck has actually been removed.

It was a good call. The problem is it's a bad rule.

That said Megatron should know the rule. He could have shielded that ball, but he didn't.

I agree though Lions deserved that win.

We'll see about beating the Packs.

Is Shaun Hill playing again?

Fair enough that it is a bad rule.  I think that he was hot dogging it to be honest.  It almost looked as though he was spiking the ball as he came around with it.

Shaun Hill is supposed to play again.  Stafford is expected back for the game against the Rams.

Oh yeah, the rule was enforced fine...but as its been said the rule is just bad LOL
Pretty much all the talking heads agreed that yeah, its stupid and really the Lions won that game.

And the NFC is weak. An 8-8 team can always sneak in...then you just need an epic playoff run!
I'll pull for the Lions this for the SB!
OK no...but still!

The Lions will make the Super Bowl in 2012.  After all, that would be the sign of the apocalypse and with the end of the world coming in 2012...

True.
But might as well have the world end on a good note.

Oh yes. But overall, as you said, its the weaker conference.
Also the NFC East is no longer the powerhouse it was...Cry

Hey now......KC is 3-0!!! Hopefully they make it to the SB too. Especially now that Indy is so over-rated.

KC vs da Bears in the Super Bowl.  That would have been a million to 1 bet before the season started.  (Probably still a million to 1 bet).
