It has nothing to do with them winning.

I do like the Saints...but earlier in this thread I predicted the 49ers would be the sleeper team this year.
Given their big O-line, Frank Gore, tough defense and now they have a few offensive weapons. If Alex Smith can develop...well sounds like all the pieces you need for a damn fine team.

Thus far, they are proving me correct against one of the best teams in the NFL!

Ahem, what about their defense? If they're successful the defense will be the primary reason. However, you can't argue with their O-line strength and having a Davis/Crabtree/Gore combo.

They should have had an interception on this 2nd Saints drive of the 2nd half. Looks like it's gonna cost them at least 3.

Right there. Wink I'm never a man to miss a team with some tough D.
I don't need to tell you guys what wins championships...
but if they can finally get some offense going, and they have the means, San Fran may be a force.

Cost them 7, but I still think they can pull this out.

Sorry brah, missed you saying that in all that offensive traffic.

'Sall good bropeth.

And it did cost them 7 but can't hold it against them, how many almost picks happen every weekend?

This is exactly where offense is needed. 49ers as of late would lose this game, almost guaranteed. Let's see if they can make up the points they're down.

Real issue was that bad snap early on. Could be a tied game, if not possibly 49ers ahead.

This is how you beat the Saints. You pound it on the ground right at them Problem is you need a good enough defense to keep you close enough to be able to run the ball.

Everything we just said is true, but....if you give the game away well, you really should lose.

It's amazing they're still kind of in this with their turn overs. That's really a testament to their defense.

I wanted to go to sleep, but the game drew me back in momentarily.

I'm going to be waking up at 4, so I'm not sure how normal it is.

Down by 8, hoping for an epic TD drive, conversion, and overtime win.

Ah well that explains it.
Would be pretty epic!

Though I actually have nothing against the Saints. A passing heavy team but they do run it, and at least they pass not all these sideways passes and 5 yarders and simple, no brain needed routes. Not looking at the Pats or Colts...*coughs*

How can you not enjoy watching Peyton Manning run an offense?

I hate the Pats nearly as much as I hate the Cowboys. I actually threw up when they went 16-0. Literally threw up.

I know he's not going to get this call, but I don't see how he doesn't have possession beyond the plane.

f**kING RIGHT.

I hate watching football alone. Not as fun saying that on a message board.

Ok defense. Make your stand.

Peyton is amazing. The fact they are so unstoppable yet run, IMO, a simple and unbalanced offense truly speaks to his greatness.
And yes, I also hate the Pats almost as much the Cowboys.
Apparently we can agree on all but politics....

Tangent, I was at that game where they went 16-0. Never saw an NFL game with that intensity. Start to finish entire crowd was deafeningly loud. Could honestly feel the crowd into it man. Was like a Penn State game.

Anywho, I'm glad they made that call. I know the rules are rules, but sometimes I wish it was simplified. The ball broke the f**kin plane...jeez what's so difficult?

Well, 49ers played damn well. Well enough to win for sure.
There were some unfortunate things, but that always happens.
What killed them were mistakes...oh that bad snap for the safety!

Ah well.
Congrats to the Saints.

Did you hear about the Denver Broncos wide receiver who was found dead?
