Unfortunately FBG, I know of no catchy songs to recommend to you. A few of us here don't do catchy. ;-)

I do catchy... but again, I'm a girl.

How do you feel about British folk, FBG?

Well, I like Jethro Tull, as I said, if that counts.

And Quiet One, I don't know Supertramp.

The name makes me laugh though.

I believe you should check them out, they're very well known for writing very fine catchy music while maintaining good musicianship and compositions.

Check these out:

Well, if you like Jethro Tull, check out Spirogyra or Comus, maybe Pentangle.

And Fairport Convention, which may be more accesible than either of these 3. Richard Thompson is a great guitar player, and he plays acoustic a lot.

This vid may be my favourite thing on youtube (since they took off that AWESOME Lemon Piper - Green Tambourine vid! Angry) Genesis Hall: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wa569wY1HzE

Spirogyra - Magical Mary:

Song To Comus - Comus (this band is the sh*t, write this name down, if you don't like it now, you'll like it in a while):

Thanks for the recommendations.

A couple of my favorite singers are Cat Stevens and Norah Jones.

So I guess I don't really belong, but oh well.  LOL
You know that synthesizer solo in "The Revealing Science of God?" Yeah, worst moment in music.

Well, if you like Norah Jones, maybe check out Regina Spektor or Nellie McKay.

And Cat Stevens, well, I guess Nick Drake can be next a logical step too.

Hanging out on a Classic Rock forum filled with rabid Kiss fans could help

I won't be cleansed out of folk though. Or of The Kinks. Tongue

I was going to suggest Comus, I absolutely love First Utterance. That album should at least be in the top twenty. I think I shall listen to it right now. Cool

Recommending First Utterance to someone with tastes like FBG sounds like a baaaaad idea. LOL

Classic rock is generally the residence of happy-ish people. It's understandable why you hold disdain for it. Wink

Wot!?!

She likes Jethro Tull. All the Tull fan I know like First Utterances.

All right, so maybe she'd need something in between Tull and Comus to ease her in, which is why I suggested Spirogyra.

Comus is way too weird, is what I think he means.

That might work better actually. Although I went from liking Tull to liking Comus (read as First Utterance because I don't want people to think I like their second album LOL) almost instantly.

Alas, I've stayed up way too late as it is for a school night. Good night, kiddos.
