You know that synthesizer solo in "The Revealing Science of God?" Yeah, worst moment in music.

In any case, Epi, if your wife does have a bun in the oven, congratulations! Smile

I meant Fat Bottom Girl. I was thinking that with a name like that, she may have been a Queen fan.

How the heck do you have 1.5 kids anyway? By having a bun in the oven I hope?

I like some Queen songs, yeah.  My favorite though is probably Somebody to Love, but that isn't as funny a name.

Not quite as funny, indeed.

Pleased to see some girls around here. Smile

Although I must say that around here, the boys are much nicer to girls than on some other forums. They're very polite and well-behaved Wink. And they don't prance around talking about Kiss incessantly like Gene Simmons is the freaking second coming of Christ.

I'm basically new here.  Everything here has been very pleasant, although I did get one "you are stupid for your opinion" private message because of my Pink Floyd review.

That's why I need to go through and 1 or 2-star every VdGG album. I don't see how I couldn't get any hate mail for that. Big smile

And 1 star everything Godspeed You! Black Emperor released too. LOL

I am not what you would call a "prog person."  But I like certain bands like Porcupine Tree and Jethro Tull and Pink Floyd.  I really can't stand Yes.  Genesis is okay.  I hate synthesizer but love acoustic guitar.

No pink rooms (we still live in an apartment).

More importantly, her name is Abigail Sophia Brown.  Heart

I would certainly hope so. I'd like my apocalypse to be entertaining. Wink

So what would you recommend someone who doesn't like synthesizer, likes interesting arrangements with kinda catchy melodies, and LOVES acoustic guitar?

When I was younger my favorite color was purple. I even got my parents to paint my room purple! I am not sure why this was, but I suspect it had something to do with the Beast in Beauty and the Beast having a purple cape. It's like Mace Windu's purple lightsaber!

I can't get The Man Machine out of my head, I listened to it on my mp3 player today and now it's stuck. I know how to get rid of those nasty earworms though. If Henry Cow can't do it, no one can.

Is Richard Thompson catchy? I'd recommend him to anyone.

Start with Fairport Convention's Unhalfbricking and work your way up chronologically.

Epi: Abigail is such a pretty name! She'll just have to be totally sweet.

edit: why, oh why can't I quote properly!??!
