They were absolutely mindblowing. Have you seen them live yet? I know you'd love it as much as I did. Seeing the Hazards of Love live alone was worth the money and more.

I have some of those. I think Hypocritical was my favorite (is that even the name of it?)

There's a Hypothetical and a Critical Mass up on Spotify. One of those two?

Gah. I keep looking for things that aren't really what they are, if that makes sense.
Prog-metal that doesn't really sound like prog metal Prog electronic that doesn't really sound like prog electronic. Blah, blah, bleurgh gobble dropfl SNORG.
Avant that isn't really avant?
*sigh*
I guess that's why I like my RPI so much.

They're on my short list of bands to go see, that's for sure. They're coming close-ish next month, but I don't really have the time to go see any bands right now. I saw ProgNation a couple weeks ago, that was fantastic. Well, I didn't stay for Dream Theater...

This is a wild ride! I think these guys are a good fit for RIO/Avant, actually. James and I are going to see about getting them added here. I think this goes beyond just an avant-jazz approach, I'd almost propose this for jazz-rock except it's too insane.

Awesome! Glad you liked it.

Indeed. I may play this again later. I've now heard the new Hammill album. Mmmm. I really should try and fully take in the lyrics though. Rob seriously panned a good album. Bad boy. There's two tracks about the Twin Towers and they're both excellent. Jean Louis on just one listen still gets my vote so far though.

A weird beyond any word match.
Federer led 5-1, Tsonga rallies and has 3 match points at 5-6, chokes, but ultimately wins tiebreak and match.
I'm quite shocked, I can't explain what happened in this match.
|
Wow. Good one Tsonga!

And on a completely different note:
Harrison Birtwistle's Mask of Orpheus was the best Opera I've ever heard. They played Part 2 at the BBC Proms earlier.
Wow.
It was phenomenal.
It puts all other Opera (and most classical music) to shame.
Think of Henry Cow and VdGG making a classical sounding Opera together. That's what it sounds like.

Luke, I see you lurking. I have a weird thought. Could Jean Louis actually be Math Rock? I'm being completely serious. Or perhaps Math Jazz.
