Looks like it's a no go.  Ouch

Ah well...I have some prospects here in Florida for this coming school year.  We'll see how those pan out.  I'm making good money at home though, actually...(I just work all the time).

Too bad.  Glad the home gig is working out, but I know you'd rather be teaching.

Well, there are many perks to doing what I do, like beer and prog, but yeah, teaching is ultimately better...I can sleep well at night knowing at least 20 children who won't go through a year not learning anything.

And that's by knowing Awake is better than everything else DT have done. By about 2 stars.

I still haven't quite forgiven that English accent effort (I mean, it's vaguely English-sounding, it sort of fits the song but it's still got all the atmospheric power of George W. Bush's public speaking) but it really is a masterpiece of writing for progressive metal, the lyrics don't suck and I can remember what happens and the sound is solid and distinctive... it's a five star album, I think I'd have to say.

On something completely unrelated... my word was the drum solo on Percolations pt. 1 (Gong, Gazeuse) great... I didn't actually notice it was a drum solo for about thirty seconds of it, that's how good it was.

And yes, if you don't repent on your views, you will be sentenced to stay here until you have a higher post count than James.

I am currently listening to Carptree.  They are not as well known as their more prickly cousin the Porcupine Tree, but they are still an excellent modern NeoProg/Crossover Prog band.  Unless of course your tastes lie within the RIO/Avant category, in which case Carptree suck almost as bad as Porcupine Tree.

Gazeuse! is an awesome album.  I recently got some later PM Gong efforts and sad to say I found them quite soporific.  I still need to get Shamal and Expresso II, and then I'm probably done with Gong acquisitions.

I'm not familiar with Mahler (no surprises given my almost total lack of knowledge with respect to classical artists).  I did just read up on him in Wikipedia.  He sounds interesting with the "progressive tones" and such.
