My guess is you don't know what the crap you are talking about.

I have health insurance and I avoid going because it's a $40 co pay to see my doctor, who isn't available 24 hours a day and $100 to go to the emergency room.  The last time I needed medical attention, I put off going to the emergency room until things got really bad.  Wound up in ICU.Angry

Apologies if I was a bit impolite, but I'm getting a little sick and tired of the rhetoric coming out of the right wing in this in country in opposition to health insurance reform.

Well I do hope it's nothing too serious.  I have friends coming back from Cancún this week and hope they haven't caught anything.

However. I believe there should not be any problem.

These things only scare me when the mainstream media DOESN'T cover it.

I do hope it's more of a panic than a real threat.  Anyone else out there thinking about The Stand?

The headlines these days have me only thinking about one thing.  Enjoy each day.  Hold your loved ones close.  Don't guilt yourself over that cigarette or that piece of fudge.  Have it, enjoy it.  The clock is ticking, whether this catastrophe or the next one coming round the bend.
...that moment you realize you like "Mob Rules" better than "Heaven and Hell"

So you're saying we should let Gary Sinise handle this?

Errrr...Confused  I'm actually in favor of health care reform.  But I do know a lot of people who go to the doctor for colds, etc.

By the way, The Stand was my first thought too.

I wonder whose side I'll end up on.  Ermm

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

It was only a matter of time.  And of course, for everyone, it truly IS a matter of time (regardless of any strain or any virus).  Hold the loved ones closest, my friends.......

Well, here's wishing it's just something that only makes you feel like crap for a few a days and nothing worse if you should get it.
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Definitely a matter for concern, but by the way the UK newspapers covered it this morning, you would have thought Captain Trips was on its way - I do wish the media would restrain themselves occasionally

This has some good information

It should be noted that since 1918 there have been at least 4 major influenza outbreaks. This is definitely a cause for concern but also not a cause for panic. I do send my thoughts out to our Mexican friends whose country seems to be getting hit the hardest.
You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

That really pees me off. Of all the things they should have cut out of it... I guess they had bigger concerns, like $300 million for green golf carts.

Maybe we had a national stop all labor, we have to know later.

My girlfriend has put my mind to rest by reminding me that I am a swine and not a human being. I am therefore not in the high risk category.

Everything looks stupid in hindsight.

Well, if there is going to be a pandemic you are only 3 steps away from it. Working in reverse chronological order

Myself
My son at school
His classmate who has just returned from a holiday in Mexico. (Quite a few of his classmates went abroad for Easter. And a lot from his school did as well. It just so happens that the cases are reported in Mexico, but it could have been anywhere really. The number of links would still be the same.)
A local inhabitant.

Makes you think, eh?

In Andrew Eldritch's words: It's a small world and it smells funny.
"The past is not some static being, it is not a previous present, nor a present that has passed away; the past has its own dynamic being which is constantly renewed and renewing." - Claire Colebrook
