I've been listening to a lot of Kevin Gilbert lately, and was wondering which of these two superb albums is preferred. Personally, I have to go with Shaming of the True, but Thud is awesome too.
Awesome musician with great ideas. R.I.P. Kevin |

Wow,
Here's a topic that you don't see every day. I can't vote as I've only heard Shaming, his albums aren't the easiest to find at times. Good question. |

I love both albums and my answer will depend on my mood probably - so right now, Thud.
Shaming was re-printed lately and was available through: http://www.popplusone.com/ Edited by avestin - March 15 2009 at 19:46 |

Oh man, so hard to choose. Kevin Gilbert is one of my favorite songwriters... each of these is great in a different way. Thud has to be lyrically one of my favorite albums ever, but Shaming of the True has one of the best concepts and the music is stronger than on Thud. I'll go with SotT right now but it changes.
What I'd really love to find is his "Kaviar Sessions", but it's impossible to find. Edited by King Crimson776 - March 15 2009 at 19:53 |

Kevin was a genius and both of these albums are amazing but if I had to choose I would pick Shaming. "Water Under the Bridge" and "Long Day's Life" might be of special Interest to prog fans.

both albums are excellent, i wouldn't dare to vote right now, because probably Shaming of True would be my fav, but Thud is also great and i love several songs.
