Well said ! Unfortunately, my copy of Udu Wudu is one of the CDs that seem to be missing (not many, thank heavens) after my move to the USA. Hope they're tucked at the bottom of one of the boxes I haven't emptied yet, but I'm afraid they've just disappeared, and I don't even know why .

That's a good list, June.
I'm especially glad for the HC, Magma, Gryphon, Mahavishnu, Gentle Giant, and Gong.

Magma actually gives me the willies, I actually hope they won't have any records
BTW, is there another band called Magma? Or did they go through some pop phase?
I heard some song last night (can't remember the name, or the album, of course) and really wondered WTF? |
1. There is another band called Magma, but I think they're even less well-known.
2. Magma did go through a pop phase with Merci. Horrible album. All their others are very good.

Looked it up again, and it actually was the one on last.fm Irridium Flares - Clubland Lounge
Is that the proper Magma? |
That's a different Magma.

Ah yes, A Little Ain't Enough, that was what it's called. Jason Becker is absolutely amazing, if he were still able to play guitar today, he would have long since left Malmsteen in the dust. I'd say he was already leaving him (Malmsteen) in the dust by the time he was 18 years old and released his first solo record.

Yes. A Little Ain't Enough. I really liked it when it came out. I haven't listened to it in quite a while though.

I'll give David Lee Roth's solo stuff a go then. I was a fan of a fair few of the DLR era Van Halen records. Did you happen to also have the album that Jason Becker played on?

I haven't ordered it. I will highlight the important ones when I print it.
And my Rush In Rio DVD was enough of an effort in the Rush area... |
Still not high enough. It needs to be: 1. Henry Cow 1. All the Rush you forgot to add to that list 2. Everything else

Oddly enough, despite being somewhat of a Steve Vai nut, I've never heard any of the DLR records. Sheehan is a crazy man, love his playing.

It's David Lee Roth, so his solo stuff is pop metal, but for the most part if you like Van Halen with DLR there is a good chance you'll like DLR solo. If you don't than you might not.
Billy Sheehan is a heck of a bass player. I learned of him with DLR and picked up a Shy Boy compilation which is pretty good. I followed him to Mr. Big, who were a decent 80's metal band, and then was surprised to find him playing jazz/fusion/prog with Niacin, who are an awesome band.
