So being typical me, as soon as I was in the relative area of a cd shop, I spent the money I found on my desk. Got Brain Salad Surgery I really need to stop making random purchases.

It's impossible. Prog owns YOU! Also, Art Zoyd ftw.

I scoff at that new chick flick movie Shopaholic, but if you exchange the girl for a guy and the green scarf, shoes and Prada bag for prog CDs and that movie is about me.

Yeah I know....I just bought it since I haven't properly heard ELP before. I don't mind it too much.

The strange thing is, my local music shops (our Zavvi shut ages ago) have most VdGG albums but hardly and King Crimson.
I did buy Close to the Edge for £3 once though. I may see if they have The Yes Album and maybe Relayer.

Which Krautrock?
I don't really know any...
I need to hear The Faust Tapes actually.
The only Krautrock I know is Tago Mago and the Faust/Slapp Happy version of Casablanca Moon (which isn't Kraut anyhow).

This is NEU! '75.
It's pleasant, actually.

Oh right.
I have Faust IV and another Faust album somewhere... I should dig them out (when I say dig them out, they're on my laptop).

Pat, which version of the two "debuts" for Art Zoyd do you prefer?

I've only heard Hallogallo from Neu! Someone recommended it as their best song. To be honest it was quite boring. It was the same dance floor drumbeat for the entire 10 minutes of the song, and the instrumental work on top of that was pretty repetitive too.

I have a couple Faust albums as well - the debut and So Far, if I recall. I should try those again, they were pretty crazy.

Can't say - I've only heard the re-recorded version.

Oh wait, I lied.
I have an Amon Duul II album and it wasn't bad.

Yeah, the first song off this Neu! album was outstanding, but now it's getting a little too "atmospheric" for me - not a good alignment with my early afternoon sleepiness.

Patrick, are you having pancakes later? I can't, I'm out tonight. But I think I'll have them tomorrow.
