I've stopped listening to the box for the night (I stopped a while back) and am not listening to any music now.
I just don't want to over do it. Besides, the next two CDs look less interesting.

As this has clearly become the Henry Cow Boxset Fanboy Discussion Thread, I'll quietly bow out.

Nothing wrong with fanboyism. I wonder how high my Henry Cow plays will get. They're already approaching 1,400.

That's a lie. There's a lot of VdGG I'm not a huge fan of too.

Yes, that's the one I heard. It was good.

Now they're sampling "Beautiful as the Moon".

Disc two has no Raga Rock though. I think it's the best.
Some of Frith's playing is awesome.

More so than the first too.
Did you happen to recognise those samples, by the way? I think one was an excerpt from LitHotB.
|
Definitely, "War" was being sampled.
And I think there was Ella Fitzgerald, or some female jazz singer from the back in the day.
|
Oh yes, it was War. I'm sure LitHotB was in there too. And yep, someone like Fitzgerald.
Now will Alex like the raga rock on Trondheim?
|
I've yet to not have an eargasm to any Henry Cow song ever produced.
I'm sure I'll like it.

Depending on how late I'm awake tonight, I may have to hold off on Trondheim until tomorrow or later this weekend. Not sure yet.
