politics aside...  and that place is as right leaning you as get hahahha.. I loved it there...  it has it's own charm. Moving there from the DC area it was culture shock..... I about drove off the side of the road the first time someone waved to me as I drove by.. figured my car was on fire or something.

Well, I have a lot of relatives in the Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana area (Born in Virginia).  I haven't been much out of the southeast USA.  We'd really like to move to Hawaii if we could. Big smile

Does anyone else think that this election will be the catalyst of a second US civil war?

It will if the McCain campaign cheats their way in to office.

There's a lot of voters who don't know their registration has been purged until they show up on 11/4 to vote.  Not to mention all those newly registered voters who will also show up and also be denied their right for frivolous reasons.  The real voter fraud is being committed by the Republicans.

Also, they have been very busy poisoning the waters for the Obama presidency should they not succeed in stealing the presidency once again.

But then again:

Slartibartfast, do you really think all those things you post are funny? Do people really still think calling Bush a monkey is funny or clever? Get some new material guys...

The rumors of election stealing are vastly overblown, just like they were in 2006. No election changing fraud is worth the risk of being ostracized for decades to come once you are inevitably cought.

^ They both accuse each other of doing it.  Ain't never going to change either.  Democrats like to play on SES issue, and the Republicans have been harping on ACORN lately...their tears cancel each other out in the end

Yeah, Texas and Alaska vs whatever. It will be a glorious hillbilly seccionist revolution and all the 'cultural elite' will be banished to awful places like San Francisco and Manhattan, or even worse ... France.

I'm not so much concerned with the Repubs cheating as with what will happen if Obama wins.  Many people on the Right have made it abundantly clear that they WILL NOT TOLERATE an Obama presidency.  They are convinced that Obama will transform America into a full-on Islamo-Marxist Totalitarian Hellscape.  If he is elected, I fully expect they will rise en masse, assassinate him and attempt a coup.

No, I'm not joking.  I really and truly believe this will happen.

I am in awe of these McCain supporters who keep chanting "Obama the socialist, communist) after their party just bailed out wall street ,socialism for the wealthy or big corporations. I thought capitalism was survival of the fittest? Can I call you Joe? Joe 6 pack, Joe the bleedin' plumber? Patriotism is not what it used to be because, in a world of global corporations rather than nation staes what is there you have to be patriotic about? The governments/ corporations want you to die for them inevitalby and eventually that is what they ask of all.Socialism benefits the people.

Does anyone remember only a few months back just before the election gained momentum there was, in the news, this flap of how Obama is related to Dick Cheney .

Well I don't think any images you post are funny, but I was asking if people honestly still think the monkey line is clever.

OF course, Colin Powell's endorsement means nothing. He did after all believe the WMD proof from Iraq, eh.
And as for the Bush jokes, well , they are getting tiresome, but only because he is too easy a target.
Some of you may find the John McCain Rolling Stone article revealing. I actually took some time surfing the internet to verify some of the accusations (his military record in particular before his POW capture), and I'm surprised that the Democrats can't make anything of them. Isn't there a Democrat Karl Rove clone that can use these stories and blow them up real good ? Especially when a descendant of the Gentleman who name "Maverick" is the origin of the word's meaning (has to do with his unbranded cows, man) resents John's use of the term.
And to think , that in two years, you americans will get to start this whole process all over again.
