In the words of Pierce Brosnan as James Bond: "What, you were expecting someone else?"
I'm filling in for Alex for this round, but otherwise it's pretty much the same dealy-o he's been going through. In this round we return from the land of apples v. oranges and pit up two spacey/psychedelic bands. One is a older classic to many proggers and the other is a newer classic to some of us (or at least me). That's it for my part. Now to copy/paste the useful info. Please: If you are not familiar with one or both of the band's material, I urge that you use the links provided and at least listen to the samples on their respective pages (or Youtube if the particular band has no online streaming). Ozric Tentacles' PA page: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=281 Hawkwind's PA page: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=732 Also please feel free to discuss both bands. Recap: Round 1 A1: A2: A3: Emerson, Lake and Palmer v. A4: A5: Can v. A6: A7: Van der Graaf Generator v. A8: Samla Mammas Manna v. A9: Rush v. A10: A11: Henry Cow v. Thanks Branden! I'll second that motion. Hawkwind, while interesting, doesn't seem to do that much for me. However Ozric Tentacles I find are quite interesting, make the only type of prog I've heard that could be used as dance music, and I think most, if not all, of their albums are very original. May the powers of Feng Shui prevail! |

Hawkwind.
They're good even when they're awful! Their style has changed a lot over the years too, unlike the Ozrics who, although very good, are rather formulaic. |

Wow... one of hardest questions i've seen so far....
Hawkwind... Because after all they have more power in they music, and they are more favorable for me to listen... but still OT is one of the most thrilling space bands... |

No Contest Hawkwind , Ozrics are a good Live band well worth going to see but that recorded output is nowhere near as good as The Hawks even though Ozrics are good live still not as good as the Mighty Hawks who have always put ona good show no matter what the setting is, i once saw them play in a laybye on back of flat bed truck Briliant stuff , Also those who Voted Ozrics i wonder how much Hawkwind they really have heard ??? This really is a no Brainer After all who do you think Influence Ozrics in the first Place Yep the Mighty Hawks along with Gong of course .

Well, Area only won by a single vote, it's not like Gong has no fans around here, and Area is awesome. |

They would have been very different thats for sure, but still pretty spacey as Ed Wynnes biggest influence is clearly Steve Hillage. |

And whatever happened to MPictures07-Alex???
Is he suffering from exhaustion from putting all those polls together and resting in a retirement home???
