First concert: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Foo Fighters, Blonde Redhead. It was awesome as it was two of my favorite bands at the time and it was my first concert. Blonde Redhead were a bit too feedbacky and screechy for my tastes then.
Worst: hmm....I played a horribly organized show that my band was supposed to open for, then ended up headlining for some wack-ass reason. It was awful. Because we the opening act, closed the show, everyone had left by the time we set up. You know how a lot of people come to shows late because they don't want to sit thru the opener? Well the same rule apparently applies when the dumbass band that organized the show schedules you to close it. It was awful. We played to the sound guy and a couple members of the previous band. In a cramped bar.
Although at least we were allowed to "rock". We had a show after that where we had been ASKED to play for an employee appreciation party at the campaign I was working at. So of course we said we'd play. It was during the day, at a bar. Two nice settings for some rock and roll. After 4 songs we were asked to play quietly so people could talk. Not because we were bad or anything. We were good, but the organizer didn't want a rock band to play in actuality. They wanted a lame acoustic guitar singer/songwriter person. Or Muzak I guess. Either way that was equally frustrating and bad.
Best: tie between Boris, ACid Mothers Temple w/ Danava, and The Ex w/ Getatchew Merkurya. All three shows were absolutely incredible. Couldn't pick one out as being better than the rest.
Last: The Ex w/ Getatchew Merkurya. An amazing show that I wish I could see almost everyday, again. Old punk rockers playing with an even older Ethiopian Jazz Sax legend = the best thing ever. IF they're coming to your city GO SEE IT.

 ouch.
The band I use to manage was asked to play at the opening of a clothes/fashion shop in a Southampton Mall. After playing 1 song the Mall managers told us they'd recieved two complaints about the noise and we were told to stop. Later we found out the first complaint was made 20 minutes before the band started playing.

1st- Van Halen 1997 Best- Tough to choose Dream Theater over Rush- but I have to- I think it is due to the intimacy of the venue. Dream Theater at Sheppards Bush with Spock's beard- London 2000 SFAM tour Worst- Too many to mention? Slipknot was horrible, I'll go with that one Last- Rush- Concord 2008

Yes and they have studied and experimented with many styles and as a.. sort of backing group for this guy and him accompanying them it is absolutely incredible. The audience started out looking like a mix of punks on one side and ethiopian expatriates on the other. Then everyone mixed together and the place was one big dance mash and a real good time. There's some videos of the two playing together on youtube, but they don't even capture a little bit of the magic that is at the show.

First - Rush on Signals tour 1982 (I was 12, my dad was awesome and took me and my friends) Worst - gah hard to say, like FZ says "Music is the best!" but prolly have to be Screaming Trees in 1990 (does anyone remember these guys?) Best - Wow, thats like picking your favorite children...prolly be Tool in a small club in 1996 or the Grateful Dead March 14, 1990 in D.C. (sorry, I've seen them like 2 dozen times), King's X in a really tiny club several blocks from my apartment, or Porcupine Tree the first time (2-3 weeks after discovering them), or...well, you get the idea... Last - Radiohead Most Special - seeing Nektar and Caravan the same night (prolly for the last time ever in the states) the same week as my birthday! (And Nektar played stuff from Recycled and Caravan played Nine Feet!!!) Or was it seeing the Flower Kings twice in a room with maybe 200 people... Or Blackfield in a club the size of your apartment... Or It Bites in 1990 in the states (I was there, were you?) Question my prog credentials do you?

Best - Ike and Tina Turner (76 I think it was), Thin Lizzy (Bad Reputation tour) Rush 2002
Last - Angra

Well, as far as i know, so far, there has been only one show in 30 years.. (I was right at the front, wohoo) but a while ago Bobbie write something about maybe releasing some new material and touring america... but it was all very preliminary, i think. However, Wootton will be playing two gigs at a small venue here in sweden in december.. so yay me, and all who live in stockholm, i guess :)
But i will be keeping an eye out, as should all. Comus live is still (though i never saw them back then, for obvious reasons) just mindblowing.
Edit: oh, and they have a myspace! :)

First: Bersuit Vergarabat(i dont remember if in 2000, or 2001) : a catchy and versatile rock band from Argentina most famous for an anti-government song. Best: I don't know whether to choose Yes' 35th anniversary one or The Flower Kings in late 2006. Steve Howe was incredible in the former, while the Flower Kings made a fantastic, intimate, passionate show, tho the sound was too loud in it. Worst: Probably that Bersuit Vergarabat. Not that it was bad, far from it. It was a fun show with condoms in the air rather than balloons . If not them, maybe Progressive Nation for having a disappointing Opeth show, and an unbearable "Beneath the Buried and Me" Last: Progressive Nation '08
