Pretty easy to understand, what was your first concert, worst concert, best concert, and last concert?
As for me:
First: Journey 2003 or 04
Worst: ^, I didn't know any of the material, and I don't like it now a days anyway.
Best: Progressive Nation 2008 (Dream Theater, Opeth, BTBAM, and 3) NYC 2nd night Terminal 5
Last: Rush Jones Beach 2008

Latest: Rush - 2008 Joe Louis Arena, Detroit (It would have been Yes, but it was cancelled). Edited by rushfan4 - August 01 2008 at 16:52 |

Coming from Ecuador, the only band I ever saw live there that appears on PA is ANGRA in 2003...
But i better only talk about my US concerts:
First - The Flower Kings - Largo, Florida 2006
Best - The Flower Kings - 2006 (so intimate... it was the best, if not the most exciting, which obviously was the one below...)
Last - ProgNation 2008, Miami Beach- Having my favorite band there (DT) obviously should have made this my best concert, but the curtain problem with OPETH and the poor sound of BTBAM made this a lesser concert, even though THREE was excellent and seeing DT live for the first time was, well....
![]() Worst - Of the ones here, probably Porcupine Tree, Orlando FL 2007. It was not bad at all, but I've seen only 6 since I've arrived so i have to pick one! (Wilson forgot the lyrics to "Blackest Eyes" and the song list was terrible... too much Nil Recurring, too few Deadwing or In Absentia or LightBulb Sun....
But my worst concert ever would have to be in my country... those really were something else....

First - Alice Cooper with Flo and Eddie(early 70s). This was back when Alice was still sort of "undeground". Flo and Eddie (ex Zappa and Turtles) were total 60s LA freaks, one of them was bouncing up and down and 'fondling' his own big shirtless man-breasts while they sang about a million reprises of the Turtles hit "So Happy Together". All this in front of a bunch of local yokel rednecks in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Worst - REO Speedwagon with Rainbow(mid-70s) ELP Works tour(late 70s) Those two shows turned me off to 70s hard rock and prog rock for a long long time. Best - Genesis with Bill Bruford on drums(mid 70s) Black Flag, 5 piece version with Chuck Biscuits and Dez Cadena(early 80s) King Crimson double trio at Berkeley's Greek Theatre Last - I'm going to see a great local Hammond B3 trio (City Champs) this Sunday. I guess that's not really a concert, but I don't go to big shows much anymore. I tried to go see Sound Tribe Sector 9 last year, but I couldn't get anyone to go with me. First: Kansas 1977: Amazing, I got the chance to see them in their peak.in Florida.
Best: Rick Wakeman in Lima: Amazing concert, Rick's instruments were sent to Paraguay due to a mistake in IATTA codes (Pa instead of Pe), so the concert started at 1:00 am on a thursday, not a sigle seat availlable, the public received Rick as a hero and he played until near 4:00 am, he was very emotional and gave his best.
Worst: Jon Anderson in Lima: I almost fell asleep, not because it was bad, because it wasn't for those who like his solo stuff, but because I expected something different, left after 1 hoiur.
Latest: Riders on the Storm: Not bad for a cover band.

Are you talking about Riders, the band that plays old country tunes. I'm no country fan but they are great. I made a point of talking to them after the show, very funny guys, lots of sly winks and sexual double entendres. They are from an older and wittier era that doesn't exist anymore. |

No EM, I'm talking about "Riders on the Storm", the Doors tribute band formed by Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger with Brett Scallions trying to fill the shoes of Jim Morrison.
