I can only agree to this. I have heard one single exception so far where double bass-drumming really fitted the music. the rest was just some guy with too much testosterone showing off: I know other people love double bass-drumming, but I think it is highly idiotic,whatever they say

I don't think double is the problem, but rather how it's used. I really think it is terrible abused nowadays, but it can be used properly. Compare something like this, or this (primitive as-fast-as-possible bass drum style) to something like this, or this.
And this right here is the biggest piece of double bass propaganda you'll ever find. |
